My thinking is, and somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but if the artwork was created by a forum member or vendor here, or is from an open casino or ongoing concern, you can't copy it or use it. You can tribute things, like if you wanted to make some "Areola Star" chips of similar font and color to Aurora Star, but not exact in any way, you're probably ok. The Boardwalks that copied Borgata were WAY too close and that got torpedoed fast, but Bellagio and Aria type chips have often been made without issue. This topic is a great question. If it needs to be moved elsewhere, please do so, and I apologize. As we use closed casino images, sports teams, boat chips, or whatever, how do we research that?
@pltrgystAs it relates to artwork created here, and this communities' standards, related to its own artwork, I'll leave that alone as I have no experience.
If we're talking, registered, known trademarks, etc, we see tons of table felt and chips with pro team logos, and obvious interpretations of known emblems, logos, etc. used all the time. Is there an easy way to search that? I looked and couldn't find it.
While I agree, we have a vendor who essentially does this for everyone here...Laugh if you want, but using images or artwork not in the public domain without permission is theft of intellectual property..... and typically not taken lightly around here.
All the businesses that do it here and outside of here are not based in the US and they are not bound by US trademark or copyright. Those have to be registered with that particular country to matter. As it relates to artwork created here, and this communities' standards, related to its own artwork, I'll leave that alone as I have no experience.

...are you saying this is a “community?” Will it be taken more lightly if I get the chips made directly by GPI?Laugh if you want, but using images or artwork not in the public domain without permission is theft of intellectual property..... and typically not taken lightly around here.
Yes, he placed the assets in his forum for public use since he has quit his project nearly right after he started it.So if I'm reading correctly we can use the aces artwork/colors/designa for custom ceramics at ~25 cents a chip?
There aren’t many better opportunities for cheap semicustoms. Do it @K ALL IN 9 !Yes, he placed the assets in his forum for public use since he has quit his project nearly right after he started it.
Actually, you have to figure on 30 cents per chip after shipping, tarrifs, etc.So if I'm reading correctly we can use the aces artwork/colors/designa for custom ceramics at ~25 cents a chip?

Which of these three do you guys like better? This would go with my tribute set to my late grandfather, T25 screencap included for reference. Thanks for your opinions!

#3 matches the chips, so that one makes the most sense IMOView attachment 498508View attachment 498511View attachment 498509View attachment 498512

I know there was a time where certain designers were backed up, but then more became available, right? I'm thinking the vast majority are close to being done. I hope things don't get dragged out too long. It's already a very long process after things are submitted until we get them.Original deadline was Aug 2nd.
we should probably get updates from those that are fully committed but may run a little late due to designers being backed up.
@SeanGecko May being doing this already but I think anyone running behind Aug 2nd should give us/Sean a heads up.
I was under the impression that August 2nd was the date that people needed to commit or decommit to a purchase but that art could take sometime after that. The date was to get a rough order total I think so that @SeanGecko could get some more concrete pricing per chip as well as more accurate shipping quotes because all of those change based on order size. I think you can still make edits to quantities after that as long as you're not like canceling your 20k chip mega custom order or something. I could be entirely wrong though.I know there was a time where certain designers were backed up, but then more became available, right? I'm thinking the vast majority are close to being done. I would duplicate your logo from the chip inlay, like the third option, but with the photo and signature. Then put "DEALER" underneath, instead of across the middle. The location is already on the horseshoe. No need to duplicate it underneath. jmo.View attachment 498508View attachment 498511View attachment 498509View attachment 498512
