So, what does this mean to us that don't know what 6C or 4COLOR printing is? How much can this cause colors to be off?
6 colour (CMYKOG = cyan, magenta, yellow, black, orange, green) printing has a wider gamut than 4 colour (CMYK = cyan, magenta, yellow, black) printing because it has more base colours to mix from. (see my post in signature called "what is cmyk)
As long as your monitor is calibrated correctly, it will be close, yep. The thing to consider is your monitor is working off of a "pure white" where a blank chip won't be a pure white. There will always be variation in colour taking something from the screen and printing it. Proofing is just part of the process, especially when you want a colour to look a certain way.
So are these the Pantone’s they match closest too?
