One of the games I attend in Los Angeles that happens to use highly insecure chips bought off Amazon for a $25/$50 no-limit game has finally decided to upgrade. Because I incessantly talk about chips, the owner of the game has asked for my help in getting some chips made.

He does not have the patience to wait for a CPC set, and the only other customs I’ve seen are the card molds from China. I think the timing on those is pretty long as well.

Is there a consolidated list by feature / ranking of the other types of custom chips available? What feels the most high-end / casino-like? I’ve heard about the BR Poker Pro offering… is there anything else?

The breakdown needed:

300 x $5 (red base)
1000 x $25 (green)
2000 x $100 (black)
1000 x $1000 (orange)
200 x $5000 (Grey)

Thanks for your help / suggestions!

I think BR pro would be an excellent option with fairly quick turnaround. To me their chips feel much like the old Chipco ceramic chips, they shuffle and stack nicely. They are highly customizable and have really nice graphics. @detroitdad Parks and Rec set is an example, and the ones I have played with several times. While I don’t really get the artwork it is very detailed and well done, and the chips are super easy to identify. Zero dirty stack issues and fairly cheap chips everyone will love to shuffle.

Majestics and Royals can be purchased as blanks and labeled.

I used some Royals as bounty/seating chips for a while (made the labels at home) and they were surprisingly OK mixed with THCs. Clearly not the same, at all, but a fair approximation.

I believe Apache can do custom labels for these, but I don’t know what the quality is compared with @Gear.

These have slightly softened edges which make for good shuffling, and makes them feel more like casino used.

(But why not sell him some of your extras?)

I believe BR Pro turnaround (order to door) is the only thing that can touch something in the range of a couple weeks (sometimes faster). If he wants absolute speed there is nothing that will beat BRPro. Bonus is that I believe they can help design in house if your guy wants something super fast and isn’t too picky with design. Perhaps someone can specifically comment on turnaround of Abbiati and Matsui which are the only other full customs that may not take several months (or maybe they do to).

custom cards mold from China shipped express. As long as you have a design ready to go, turn around seems pretty fast for small orders in my experience.

Krish, what was the turnaround for Oleg’s set?

Even if Matsui or Sun-Fly or Abbiati can get your order made quickly, you are still at the mercy of an international shipping industry that is still destroyed from COVID. The turnaround at brpropoker is fast and they are American so shipping is significantly easier. Go with brpropoker
Not even close...I'm receiving plenty of international packages within normal time frames for months now

And the Key West option is US too

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. But I also believe BRPoker can do ink that reacts to black light. Adds another level of security.

I would go with BR Pro ceramics or the Abbiatis. The feel of the two is completely different though, and based just on the feel and weight I think most non-chippers would say the Abbiatis are more high-end. BR Pro would be quicker though.

I second @BR Pro Poker . Got my tourney set from them. Kristal is patient and so easy to work with. The chips came out great and exactly how I wanted and the host can buy samples to make sure they come out as desired. Plus there are multiple oversized, plaque and dealer button options.

Kristil is amazing to work with!

Labeling 4500 chips would be a tedious task. Lol

Based off of:
1) Turn around time (6ish weeks)

2) dexterity of the chips for higher than average home game use (my experience, maybe not enough... is that Ceramics fade over time and with heavy use, maybe just a result of heavy casino use, this sounds like a regular high end game, they want chips that will hold up, and stil look appealing)

3) still resembaling a traditional chip for the players (still having an inlay and not a flat surface ceramic)

4) offering both 39mm/43mm, can go 39mm up to $500 and the n step it up for high denoms (obviously you can also do this with Br Pro)

I would say the front runner here would be SunFly! Really nice chips for the price. I think the 43mms Hybrid Ceramics are about $1.20 now, maybe less with that size order.

@MegaTon44 has been in the chipping community a Long time and has changed most of his collection over to Sunflys. Maybe he could shine a bit more light on them?

We own a tourney set of the Midnight Casinos, they really are nice chips!

These would be a great option if the turnaround time works.
