Dealer button (DIY) (4 Viewers)

Wow just found this thread, this is amazing! Great job!

Do you plan on pressing the label (or heat resistant placeholder) into the soft clay before baking, or just applying sticker on top? Sorry if I missed that detail

Thank you!
I think there are at least 5 options now:
1. Stick a Gear label on top. (the easy way)
2. Milling a 40/0.5mm recess, and stick a Gear label (the hard way)
3. Get 2 heat resistent molds = 65mm + 40/0.5mm on top (the best, but very hard to get way)
4. A hotstamp (?)
5. Blank button (!)

Tomorrow i‘ll try a Simon button ; )
Label is done.

Very cool!
I can only hope mine turn out that good.
I'll be trying my hand at diy epoxy dealer buttons shortly.

These are around 67mm and 54/63g
The surface is very smooth.
Sounds ‚heavy’ - not like standard ceramic DB.
There‘s a washer inside.
It‘s more like plastic than ceramic.
I wonder if CPC uses a similar basic material for their clay poker chip.

Thx - sounds interesting!
Very nice depht effect with epoxy, or work with pigments and layers.
I saw one guy make these crazy christmas buttons.

Hmm never seen that. Wish I knew where I seen the very few pics of some custom db's using shavings in them.

Try out with some labels…

This project is about to be done.
Got a couples now and enough for my use.

But if anybody is interested in a button like this, let me know. Maybe something ‚special‘ for your custom set or collection? PM me what you are looking for.
These are handmade and not perfect machined. It‘s not ceramic or clay as we know it, but every one is a unique piece.
~68mm diameter
7-8mm thickness
50-54g
Ask for other sizes.

Did you found time to try this out?
Once i made a cast with epoxy, but it was not the right product for this - too yellow‘ish.

The big advantage is the layering method.
You can place a label or whatever in between two layers of epoxy.

I tried a few small items with UV resin. Mine worked well. My wife and daughters stuff not so much.
My Epoxy hasn't showed up yet. ETA is Monday.
I plan on putting small UV resin items inside the epoxy buttons along with some cricut labels etc.

Your stuff is turning out amazing!
My daughter has made stuff from clay many times. I should show her yours.

Thx!
You’ve got to be 1/3 crazy, 1/3 chipnized, 1/3 DIY guy to do such things like a dealer button…

but i can live with - no choice… ; )

Pls show your epoxy results when it‘s done. Sounds interesting!
