Hello everyone! I'm new here and was looking for a set of non-denominational chips or a set that has very small denominations (like 5c/10c/25c, etc) for a micro stake cash game. I saw the desert palms "no cash value" chips at Apache Poker Chips and it looks like they are trying to liquidate their inventory.

Does anyone know if these are going to be around for awhile or should I jump on this while it's still available?

Thanks in advance!

That version of the DP are plastic and slippery. You won't be happy with them.

I agree with ^this^ assessment. Better choices out there for a minimal increase in cost.

Do you mean that the non-denominational desert palms are that way or that both the valued and non-valued desert palms (the non-Paulson China clay as a whole) are plastic and slippery?

All of the plastic 9.5g chips are slippery -- Pioneer Club, Dunes commemorative chips, Desert Palms, Nexgen Pro, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, etc...... all are pretty light and slippery, especially compared to the china clay versions (Dunes and Desert Palms).

Imo, the best value in low-end chips are the 13.5 'soft-plastic' slugged chips on the Spade & Sword mold that Apache sells for around 15c each: Showdown Club, Monaco Club, and Poker Knights.

Thank you for the information but I'm a little confused. The Apache Poker Chips page for the non-denominational chips I linked says they are "pure clay" which lead me to believe that they were the China Clay version. I'm guessing that's not true?

Mostly anytime you see anybody posting chips as "pure clay" it's almost always a lot closer to "pure bullshit". It's just marketing crap.

No, those DP chips are not the china clay version.

Thank you so much. You saved me 100 smackeroons. I owe you a sandwich :)

Okay, I FINALLY see what you are talking about. There are actually THREE store pages on APC: one for pure clay denom, one for pure clay non-denom, and one for the ORIGINAL DS which they seem to have run out of a lot of.

I think that the Showdown composites look nice (even though they aren't clay) and have no dollar signs so that might work for me.

The absolute BEST scenario would be to give me a 5 or 10 cent Milano which would fold right into my set I already have but oh well...

You could definitely ask one of the many designers here to mock you up a nickel for your Milano set and just stick the label on a Milano blank.

I can see I am going to love it here. <3 <3

Yes that would be so cool. I would love to learn how to make labels!!

Or a whole new set of chips, like the Majestics. Order blanks, and then have labels made by one of the other trusty site vendors (Gear, PGI, other options may be available) with exactly the denomination you like on colors you prefer.

If you need help with the art, we also have artists available for hire. Check out pages with pr0n (the Calendar or Hall of Fame threads are good starts), and you'll see many done by great artists here.

Should have shown this too...

You can order nickel-labeled chips directly from Apache, using any one of those chip colors above. He had the factory make extra labels (and extra blank chips) while producing the latest order (which is en route from China right now).
