Teppanyaki ‘hibachi’

Just saw the conversation about fried rice. Leftover rice works really well, I try to make it a day ahead of time. I’ve used 5 minute rice though and it works too. Finely dice onions and cook clear first, add rice, lots of soy sauce. Fry the eggs and add them in, then a bag of frozen peas / carrots. Sesame oil makes it, and throughout cooking lots of salt pepper garlic powder, and clarified butter!!!

Looks great! I bbq year-round. I’ve been jonesing for a Blackstone or Camp Chef burner griddle to go alongside the grill. Nice!

That looks so yummy, why do salads in cali look better than salads here
Lots of fresh local produce that tastes like it's supposed to. We probably eat the same stuff, but oh what they do to produce to get it here looking halfway decent. Most of the flavor is gone by the time we get it.

Really you guys have to ship alot of that stuff in?

Unfortunately, yes. Our growing season is a little shorter than California's. Farmers' Markets are a big deal here. Most of their stuff is local, but I always ask.

When I lived north of Chicago, I picked up a sandwich from a deli near work. I start chewing the first bite and was astonished. I could tell there was a slice of tomato inside without looking! Restaurants get all the good stuff.

Wow I had no idea it varied that much.. I wonder how much of our produce is shipped in vs fresh or local

I still don't trust sushi yet in the COVID world.
Yea I’m worried about eating it too. We had it once since March. It was so tasty and wasn’t even one of the better places. The good places around here are pretty busy so we avoided them
