Wow. This is a serious facepalm. In today’s vlog, he mentioned that people were giving him crap about his chips, so he needed a new chipset. So he went to the GG platinum lounge and got himself these beauties. Probably ceramics? No way they’re any good. And no numbers.

He’s an odd duck for sure. I remember a few years back, he had a segment on his body waxing on his WSOP vlog.
But you take the bad with the good - he’s got a lot of insider info that’s sometimes useful. And all his videos from inside the events and chats with other players - that’s good stuff.

I remember one of our vocal PCF circus game guys, bragging about whatever ridiculous game they played, made a comment like if you called that game at Dnegs table, he’d shit. Or something to that effect.
I didn’t say anything at the time (shocking, I know) but this is a guy who’s sat around in Bobby’s room and the like, literally making up new games with guys like Phil Ivy, and playing them for high stakes. He got his start playing stupid games like that, 30 years ago.
We know more about chips than him, but actual poker game and strategy? There can’t be much he hasn’t seen.

Yeah, guy is a fantastic player and I agree, he'd quickly figure out whatever game we choose to play. He's not just a NLHE geek. I meant he'd probably rip apart my reasoning/reads.

One of my favorite parts of his podcasts was discussing which games to call at which times in a dealer's choice tournament, its just something I hadn't put much thought into before. Only reason he'd "shit" at one of my calls is if it was just horrible ICM wise.

This is the way to beat the robots. I don’t care what they know or what they’ve memorized, once you bust their ass with J4 off suit they are toast for the evening.

But I’d never used poker stakes before and didn’t realize you had to deposit your money first. By the time I got that done, his shares were sold out. So now I have $60 sitting on pokerstakes.com. Pissa.

I just watched up to the latest blog from Day 1 over the weekend and man I tot the same as well.

New House New Gym soon New Basketball court etc and New Poker Table and Chair and he used the most crappy Slugged chip with it.

Yeah this really is his calmed down version, which is scary. Here’s my take:
It’s a given at this point that he doesn’t care about the money or ICM or anything else at all - this is all about bracelets. But it seems like he places little to no value on starting an event on time and building a stack. If there’s a big $10k or $25k event starting today, he’d rather fire multiple bullets at some other event today, then after he gets knocked out, go late register for the big event tomorrow. And max late regging in those things usually starts at like 20bb, so how much of a chance do you really have?
I know his mantra this year is “quality over quantity” but he’s still allowing for plenty of quantity over quality in my opinion. I’d rather see him play even fewer events, but play them from the start. But hey, safe to say he’s smarter about this stuff than me.
