Do your players steal your chips? (1 Viewer)

mind sharing what is your set?

Sure. I got a set of China clay Pharaoh's from Apache Chips. It's not one of those amazing personalized chip sets, but I love them and they will have to last me until Paulson decides to start selling chips to the general public again, so maybe forever.

Luckily they’re easy and cheap to replace, I always like having 3-4 extras of every chip on hand just in case anyway

Me too. It took me about four years of chipping before I started to realize that every new chip order should include 10 extras per demon. The extras don't tilt me when filling racks because I keep all my spares in racks together.

I have a basket of spares for my Cleveland set, I think it's a great idea for anyone that uses their chips regularly... worst case scenario for me would be someone accidentally dropping one, then moving their chair to grab it and accidentally running it over... breaking it

ive lost one or two over the years dunno how someone might have stolen them?

But the problem isnt that they got stolen/lost/other its that it does your head in. What is the actual value of the chip versus whats the value of your head space.

Over time it Will happen somehow.

so get spares. and don't let it do your head in. Its not worth it.

I've hosted a home game for a few years and haven't lost or had a chip stolen, yet. I think that's attributed to two reasons: 1) most of the regular players were green at the beginning, so they've been trained to respect the rules of play (don't take chips off the table, only I can access chips in the bank for rebuys, etc.); 2) they all think I'm a little nuts when it comes to my poker chip fascination, so they dare not tempt the outpouring of wrath if I'm one chip short at the end of the evening.

A lot of it has to do with the type of people who are playing, too. I have 100% trust in the players I invite into my home, so I'm not worried about theft. And, since we don't play on carpet, everyone can hear when chips fall on the ground, so losing chips is highly unlikely.

Not if they value their health. I wouldn't mind cleaning their face off my fists for such a ridiculous act. Obv they wouldn't be invited back, ever.
