For Sale Dunes $1 singles/barrels (1 Viewer)

good luck with the sale, it's just amazing how the prices have gone up on everything . The only reason I have what I have is because I started building the set back in 2007
One day, you’ll have to tell the story about when you got your first rack of those $25,000 Baccarat chips! :D

My own set topped out at $1k poker chips, though I did manage a single barrel of the $5k Baccarats. :ah:

It’s interesting, I’m new to the forum and have been reading all the listings from oldest to newest this last month, I’m at 2018 listings and prices are moving up fast.

Well done on building the collection when you did. No time like the present when building a set right.

Like most desirable collectables the marketplaces are very efficient and have a healthy amount of speculators.

These Dunes are running away in price. I think I’m gonna need a speccy investment to explode to afford these chips now.

What a time to be alive eh lol

You want to see a great set, check out jackstraw's set . Mine is mediocre

Everything is still available. No one has called dibs on the lot. No one has even claimed dibs on the 39mm. There has been a partial dibs call on the 39mm sans blues. I'll give it a week before splitting up the set in case somebody is on vacation.

Incorrect. There have only been offers for the 39mm (sans blues). As a reminder, dibs for largest split-buyer gets priority for dibs on smaller purchases.

Are these not dibs? Understandably if someone takes the full lot they take priority. But I wouldn’t qualify the below as offers?

It's in the OP, but I'm going to answer this one last time with more words.

Dibs for the entire lot gets > priority over anyone who calls dibs on a split. No one has called dibs on the entire lot yet.

If split, then the largest purchaser will get > priority over any dibs on a smaller purchase. The screenshot you shared is dibs on a $6,050 purchase. I have spoken to those potential buyers and they understand full well that someone else could swoop in and offer to buy a larger chunk of the lot and they would be out of luck because if anyone calls dibs on more items than $6,050, they would get my first priority over any prior dibs of smaller split requests.

As the seller, I'd prefer to do as few transactions and shipments as possible. I am responding to DMs with questions about splits. I am not responding to DMs with lower than asking prices.

I’m trying to stay out of trouble here. I’ve tried, but I can’t look at any of Jackstraw’s sets without breaking at least one of The Ten Commandments, and thinking *really* hard about breaking another one. :wtf:

I will never not be surprised by people being absolutely shocked by the basic concepts of supply, demand, appreciation and the passing of time in a collectibles market.
The tourney director and I and we were all doing a tour of the poker room here, and talking about the significance of the passage of time.

Right? The significance of the passage of time.

So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to buy and sell these chips and play this game of poker.

And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children and what that means to the future of poker and our chip collecting hobby.

1) Dibs the lot, or
2) Partial dibs and then wait and see who gets first bite at the split apple
3) Thou shalt not commit adultery
4) Thou shalt not covet
5) Repeat steps 2-5
