First question: Is it a wolf's DEN or LAIR?

If you like wolves, its a den. If you don't like wolves, definitely a lair.

I think wolves are cool, but they don't live around me or eat my livestock or children.

I have very different feelings about Yotes which do live around me.

Den is more common.

Wolf’s den or wolves’ den?

I think for the purpose of expressing an idea to another person using language either is fine.

It’s the entire place where the wolf lives, not just where he watches tv or where he plots to overtake the world.
