Not Mine Estate listed on Craigslist Miami (2 Viewers)

I think a set of these chips would command a high price, but you need to find a buyer to pay that price. I would love to have them, but no monies.

That's just so when asked if he would sell for less, he can counter with "sure, $7,000, best price".

I contacted him to offer a trade.

I get the chips, he gets to sell my Nigerian uncle's estate and free up some of his stuck mirrions...
True story, he just had to go to Nigeria-land and ask for my uncle (Abacha Tunde, also my first african uncle that went into space)

He declined :(

Love it.

"Everyone wants to tell me that they aren't worth much.. But yet more than 30 guys have contacted me trying to buy them"

But they haven't actually bought 'em! Why not? Because the price is too high. It doesn't really count if every one of those 30 guys said, "I'd like to buy them, but for a grand."

the ad says

Uncirculated Full set from a very...

umm does this mean he diddnt play hugh? or are they played....

this guy is a spinner

I can't for the life of me understand some people. For very single collectable item you can imagine there is going to be at least one forum frequented by knowledgeable hobbyist who can collectively give you a pretty good idea of what your item is worth.

If I inherited what is supposed to be a rare stamp, I could spend an afternoon googling and end up with a pretty good idea of whether I have a $20 stamp, a $2000 stamp, a $2,000,000 stamp or even just face value stamp!

To be fair to the seller though, can anyone think of another hobby that has such differing values between single items and bulk lots?

Cars. Pencils. Lots of stuff is cheaper in bulk, collectable or not. Volume sales are almost always cheaper per unit.

That makes sense. I didn't know that buying items in bulk resulted in cheaper per unit prices when compared to buying a single item.

I guess the seller must save on shipping costs?

Love it.

And nobody has told him that "they aren't worth much." They just aren't worth what he's asking.

To play devils advocate...he will be in the right if he holds out for a few years and that 1 guy walks up willing to pay full price.

It is really hard to put a price on collectibles when the supply and demand is heavily skewed in one direction. He knows he has a rare item. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than 500 maybe others here would pay 2k and again someone else might pay 8k...who knows...

It could be a 1 of a kind set. If someone has some sentimental connection to that place/time it is impossible to put a price on it.
