Hello and farewell,

As many of you are likely aware, I became a father almost 3 months ago, and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. As a result, I've decided to step away from the hobby to focus on raising my daughter and spending more of my free time with her.

I wanted to say 'thank you' to the many of you who have been so helpful to me over the years with acquiring chips, making trades, help with designing customs, advice on where to find anything from Fournier setups to airtites and Paulson racks, how to clean chips, how to flatten chips, and everything else under the sun that has to do with chipping. This community is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in chips! I also wanted to thank you, Tommy, for all the time and resources you've put into building this site.

Last year, I stopped hosting games once we found out that my wife was pregnant, and I just realized that I haven't even played a single hand of poker since playing in a couple tournaments last summer during the chip convention. And after playing for a living for over 12 years, it's been a more than welcomed change in my life.

I've decided to hang up the chipping cleats, and wanted to reach out to the community to offer a proper good-bye and to say 'thank you' for all the help over the years. If you ever need to get a hold of me for any reason, or if you're ever in the Bay Area and want to meet up for a beer, you can reach me via email at the gmail.com domain with the same username as I have here.

Take care, and share the pr0n!

Travis

Enjoy this time with the little girl Travis, they grow up so fast, mine turns 30 this year. I've now got a little granddaughter to keep me running.

I'm sure we'll hear from you again sometime in the future.

Enjoy the time with your family, time truly flies when you are having fun.
I have 3 girls and one is about to turn 15, the twins will be 11, I spent a lot of time with them when they were younger and it was awesome. As they get older, they get there own hobbies and do not want to spend as much time with you as they did..

I wish the best for you.

Best of luck, Travis! Put all you poker stuff in the closet except for a few barrels to shuffle while on feeding duty! You be able to revisit it all in about 8-10 years.

Good luck in the future. Kids grow up fast, and we'll still be around once she goes off to college (or gets into the "I'm too cool to be seen with my parents" stage ). So let's not make this a "good-bye", rather a "see you around".

I started teaching my kids to play poker with the gang at tens years old. I had other player's kids in the low stakes stuff about the same age. Time flies pretty fast - before you know it she will be three-street bluffing with your money. . . . .

Been there, done that, now my kid thinks poker is easy -=- DrStrange

Good Luck Travis! Enjoy your daughter and I look forward to the time when you are able to rejoin the hobby.

I've enjoyed looking at some of the sets you pulled together. Kids are a lot of work when they are little and it is nice to focus your time into them and your family at this stage. Things get a little easier as they get older, so perhaps poker and chipping will be something you come back to later in your life journey? Good luck to you sir!

I'm wishing you all the best, Travis! I know we've had our differences, but I hope you have a rewarding and fruitful experience with your little one.

Here's to hopefully seeing you back on the boards some day!

As a father of 4 young kids (5, 4, and 1 year old twins) I completely get where you are coming from. From the time when our first child was born until about 9 months ago playing poker was always on the back burner that only happened a few times a year if that.

The first year is the hardest on you and your wife putting your focus on your family at this time is smart. Good luck and remember that any day you all make it through it is a good day. Poker will be there when you want it again.

only question I have is "do you know who the father is?" HI-YOOOOO!

Sorry, couldn't resist lightening the mood. Congrats man and good luck, kids are a LOT of work, that's why my wife and I had cats instead :P
