Held a 20 person tourney last night. Broke in the new CPC Fat Tire chips. Was super short stacked for a good portion of the tourney, until mid-way through I picked things up to become the overwhelming chip leader. Three handed the stack sizes were me w/ 180k, 2nd place with 80k, 3rd w/ 5k. 3rd, shoved light and was called by both opponents on tripled up two hands in a row. Should be noted the me and 2nd place had very solid holdings on both occasions, 3rd place was just a very lucky (newish to poker GF of a semi-reg). I discovered that AA > than AK on a A49 board, and doubled up 2nd (who then became the chip leader. Anyway, I get another cooler hand, and am now out in 3rd, and the GF takes second. I had like six $10 bounties and $75 for third place, so at least I made something...

Chips were awesome (awesomer in person).

Here are some shots of the action. PCFers @lnlver @HanShot1st and @Jason were in attendance, and @Jason and I didn't shut things down until... well, it was getting light outside...

We also did a charitable component to the evening. People received chip bonuses for bringing non-perishable food items to donate to the local food pantry. Some brought food, and some brought cash, but overall we have a decent donation to make.

Great set up! Chips look great in live stacks! Love those chairs on table one.

And you won money on the maiden cruise! That's a tough feat based on many other stories.

was poised to take it down... Everyone had their money on my scooping. Just crazy bad luck. Hands I lost on, really played themselves.

Seriously insane set up! Loving the the chips, table and comfy seats around the poker table!

The whole setup is perfect! The colors, spots and inlays of the chips are perfect, the table is perfect and you should congratulate yourself on the design and execution of the whole thing!

Does it come with Fat Tire on tap?

Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the beer... But we do have a decent selection of beers on hand.

6 bounties! Ruthless!

Yup... They just started piling up. I had a crazy night of bad luck to start. I actually went the first 2:10 without winning a single hand. My first three hand wins were AIPF (by me) with no callers. Once I started to accumulate a few chips, things started to turn around. Unfortunately, my luck ran out in the end, and I zonked for 3rd (paid out 6).

Really, I look back towards you as part of the reason I'm down this rabbit hole... My first WCB was eye opening, life changing, and amazing. Thank YOU sir!

Should be noted, that @Jason has agreed to donate/lend the use of his poker chairs for the MTTD. His chairs are arguably as nice (shhh, don't tell him I said so). This means decent seating for a vast majority of the players.

Thank you sir. I was happy to cash. But a tad disappointed that all those beautiful chips were sent from my rail to another player, as opposed to directly back into the racks... I can't believe how awesome the colors are in person. The photos (from my phone) just don't seem to do them justice.

Nothing like the sound of balls slapping off hard wood in the middle of the night...:x.

Love the game but it can be loud.

I hope those are only display beers. most of those beers have a shelf life of 110 - 180 days out of refeigeration. If they have been there for a while you need to start drinking them. 3 thing s that degrade GOOD Beer - Time, Temperature and Light. Please be nice to your beer and drink it

Lovely, Erik, just lovely. (y)

I should have bought a barrel of those 1000 chips. Let me know if you do an add-on sometime in the future.

To answer the point, this was a photo taken around the first MTTD... My beer stock varies greatly. I host every 2-4 weeks, and every time I do, people always bring a six pack to share (or a snack). They rarely drink all 6 beers, which leaves me with a nice stock, which gets consumed by those who just bring snacks the following game. I host enough that it became cost prohibitive to spread food and beer for everyone. Everyone pitches in, brings something. It all works out.

This game, I told all my players to forgo bringing beer, and just consume all the left overs. I wanted a completely fresh stock by the time of the MTTD.

I will purchase all new beer (cases of Spotted Cow, Ambergeddon, and maybe Heineken) before May's big game. I don't want skunky beer at the MTTD.

Your friends and mine are cut form different molds and several are form MN.:D

As a collective (average), we do ok on the beer department.. I get 20 people show up, lets say 14 bring six packs, others bring snacks. A few guys will drink a lot of beer (most won't), but when you're drinking GOOD beer, you don't need to slam it. :)

For some reason or another, I tend to have a lot of cops attend, and they are pretty careful about drinking too much. But they'll still bring a six-pack.

Me experience is that cops are the worse. Followed closely by public safety dudes

My sister in law and brother in law are LEO's here in Topeka, I have lots of LEO friends of almost every Dept from state to local level and that doesn't affect consumption around here YMMV;)

That said there are typically DD's

Finally some competition for the ACF Paulsons. I think I like yours better! Great job and an inspiration for any tourney set.
