310 minty Horseshoe Cleveland $25s converted to JACK Shaker Heights (Cleveland, OH) $25s with @Gear overlabels:

The location is a tribute to both the underlying chip and the neighborhood where my grandfather lived as a boy, until his father (the city’s chief engineer) died in the 1918-19 flu epidemic, which eventually necessitated a move.

I haven’t decided to which of my Jack sets I’ll add these... I’ve decided the watermelons did not work with either my cash or tourney sets, much as I like them as standalones: Too busy, and too many dirty stack issues. I have a similar number of Primary 25s, so I’ll have to see which looks best with each.

The other main design change from the original was to go with rounded corners on the hexagon faux inlay, rather than the pointed ones on the original Horseshoes.

I now have to go through and do some quality control on a handful of chips with air bubbles or poor label alignment. Gear provides extras so I should have enough to cover the few defective applications.

These look awesome, buddy!

So I think I’ve settled now on my cash and tourney lineups... I’m keeping two racks of Watermelons for now in case I change my mind (sold one already, will sell the fourth). But here’s my mixed/faux Jack lineups:

(A) Low-stakes cash:

(B) Flex 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 or 2/5 cash:

(C) Flex 2/5 or 5/10 or higher cash (plaques can be any value needed):

(D) T25 tourney:

The T25 tourney set also can be run as a T100 without the greens... The reason I have 10K and 25K faux denoms is because the 5Ks are so hard to get, and I only have two barrels of those. The all-ins also work as bounty/seating chips (other side has seating).

Time to rest... I’ve fiddled with these sets enough. And wait until I feel comfortable hosting again. Haven’t hosted a game since the first Monday in March due to COVID.

OK, let's go ahead and close this thread please, mods: @Taghkanic wins.

Dude, that low-stakes cash set is the GOAT JACK relable, in my opinion. What chip is the $2?

The $2 is an original (non-faux) Jack Cincinnati. These were still in play until very recently, so I got them from someone who harvested some prime racks. It’s a gorgeous chip, and mixes in seamslessly.

The Jack Cincy casino reportedly has now been rebranded, and very recently started calling in the old chips and putting their new ones (Caesar’s? Can’t remember) in play. Hoping the Jack Cincys show up in a Chip Room or similar sale eventually. I prefer the $1s to the Jack Detroit $1s, though I don’t know if there are any unplayed racks... Even better than overlabels—mixing different authentic Jacks...

And I see the pictured label on the $20 (overlabels of $2 Horseshoe Cincinnati) needs some cleaning up. I think the seller gave me some extra labels.

Thinking of converting a black SB T100 barrel into a 100K chip for my tourney set. I figure that is OK, even though I have standard JD100Ps in the same set, since they would never be in play at the same time. Plus, one is 39mm and the other 43mm... Or do people think that is a terrible idea?

Which lineup would you play it is?

Which lineup would you play it is?

Same lineup as my T25 set above, without the 25s. So, the black 100 would be the low chip (100/200 start) and the highest denom (100K). But per above, never in play at the same time.

I think I just talked myself out of it. Wish there were a red or navy IHC.

Got a barrel of SB T100s to try out as a 100K chip in my Faux Jack tourney set.

This is a mock-up using my own type set on glossy label sheets. If I pull the trigger, I’d see if @Gear could make the final version, as he did for the 10K and 25Ks.

Part of my debate is that I could instead convert the blue 10Ks to 100Ks instead... I only had the 10Ks made because until very recently I was having trouble securing enough 5Ks for a multitable T25K game (100/200 starting blinds).

The 100Ks would only rarely come into play, but it adds a nice option for special events when I have sometimes had 3 tables instead of 2, meaning stacks run deeper at the end.

They are somewhat unconventional in that they are similar to the starting black 100 chips, but since the 100s come off long before even the 25Ks would hit the table, that seems OK to me.

Thoughts? I like these fine, but probably converting the 10Ks to a higher denom is more sensible.

Completed my barrel of Faux Jack 100Ks. These are my homemade labels, inferior to Gear’s; I’ll probably see if he can make replacements next time I have a larger order.

But for now these will do. The main issue I encounter is with the circular punch—it’s tough to get a really clean cut on this waterproof, glossy stock. Lots of waste (had to attempt about 70 cuts to get 40 usable ones). For a small job like this, that’s OK. I also tried pre-cut round labels, but getting accurate registration proved almost impossible.

Also I feel the labels are just a hair too glossy, but the satin-finish label sheets from the same source are thicker and impossible to punch cleanly.

This might be a dumb Q, but why are so many of y’all relabeling you’re chips to be Jacks? When you have the ability to relabel them to be anything, why Jacks? (Side note, I really enjoy the way Jacks look, so don’t get me wrong here) just curious is all

A lot of people have Jacks due to the huge Chip Room sale, so it is natural that people would make add-ons or substitutes.

A few denoms (fracs, 1K, 5K) are very expensive and/or hard to find, so some people make their own.

There also were no high-denom Jacks above 5K, so for tourneys people have made bigger ones either just to augment their sets or to not have to play a T25 structure.

In a few cases, and I’m one of these, maybe people love their Jacks but don’t like 1-2 of the denoms. I was not a fan of the Jack 5 and 25 colors, so I made my own out of three racks of red Cancuns and some green Clevelands. This let me keep working within the Jack universe but have a color scheme more to my liking.

Great, thank you. This makes total sense

We've seen plenty of high stakes/25K/100K Jack relabels, how about some MICRO stakes!!

Just got my 5c labels in the mail from @Gear and they are perfect! Thanks! Labeled 5 chips real quick to see how it looks and they are amazing :D

I think the HSI secondary frac is a perfect, subtle 5c in this set
Now just have to do the other 95...
