Favorite Car You've Owned? (5 Viewers)

.....had a lot of great adventures in that little bastard.

Talking about you or the car? HAR HAR HAR!

(Color Commentator: "OH MY GOD!!! THAT'S THE MEAN GIRLS MUSIC!!!")

I think you have repressed your specific sexual desires to the point that they have been forced to come through in a driving style that incurs pun-heavy mechanical damage.

Isn't tranny short for transmission? Most 8 year olds have a better understanding of how a motor vehicle works than I do. I drive like an asshole. I know how to do only 3 things in car: 1) Mash the gas, 2) Stomp on the brake, 3) make a lot of unpredictable and really quick turns. WHEEEEE!

2004 Silver Jeep TJ sport. Had the doors off and roof off all the time. Was a blast going to the beach. Traded it in at lease up time :(

then there was the lamborghini, but that was my second favorite car ;)

I lived in London for yonks and used public transport and only learned to drive very recently.

Favourite car is my only car, a Honda Civic 1998.

It has a tape deck! :D I have to use an mp3-to-tape converter so that I can listen to tunes on the go. High rollin'!

My old Z-24 Convertable in med. Quasar Blue. I absolutely detest GM vehicles both on looks and principal but simply loved this car and all the memories it brings. The car pictured isn't a photo of my car but an exact match.

I've only had 5 cars i.... Ford Bronco II (blew the tranny); ...Honda Accord V6 (blew the tranny), and 2 Toyota 4Runners... the tranny blew ... my current 2007 ... the transmission will mushroom cloud).

Own much AAMCO stock? You definitely should.

1990 Honda CRX in this cool iridescent blue/green color. This is not my car, but one similar to it. I also competed in car audio when I was younger, and had a $5,000 stereo installed (won several best in shows).

2000 BMW 328 for me. Special ordered it with all of the features and manual transmission. Loved driving it until the service 2 appointment. Traded it in for a Mazda 6 sport wagon...dumbest trade ever. Had the Mazda 16 months and traded it for a jeep grand Cherokee. Still wish I had the bimmer

1988 Nissan 300ZX with T-tops. Since it was a 2-seater I was "forced" to sell it in 1993 since I couldn't take both kids anywhere at the same time.
When the kids got older I eventually replaced it with my current car -- 2007 BMW Z4 convertible... nothing like riding around with the top down in the summer and early fall (even if you have to fire up the seat heater)

I have a soft spot for Nissan Z's

My step dad had a Datsun 280 Z back in the day (it was a racing model from Europe - all tricked out), but he sold it before I got my license. :(

Not the actual car, but close...

Did you choose European pick-up?

If not, for anyone else, it's highly recommended.

We ordered a 2002 E46 four door 325i for my wife. Five speed, sports suspension, sports seats, 12-way power seats, Bose sound, no sunroof (hate 'em). How lucky am I to have a wife who considers that the perfect car? Very.

Tracked its production online. Picked it up at the factory in Munich on Dec. 22, 2001. Ten minutes later it was doing 100mph on the autobahn, headed east. Put 2,200 miles on it over the holidays (Salzburg, Vienna, Nuremburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Heidelberg, Luxembourg, Paris, Caen, Rennes, Strasbourg, etc.) then dropped it off back in Munich for shipping home (we had a choice of 19 cities for drop-off.)

Two weeks later, our local dealer prepped it for us like any other new BMW.

I'm convinced you get a better car when you pick up in Europe, because they know you're going to wring it out over there. Plus you get a substantial discount (~10%), and they pay for the European license plates and insurance for 60 days.

It's been a great car. Some dings on it from living in the city. But only 53,000 miles on it, including a couple thousand at the track for BMWCCA track days (the only repairs have been failed power window motors and regulators), and the steering wheel is just the most perfect polished grippy black leather you've ever touched. If I could buy a new non-turbo 6 cylinder Bimmer tomorrow and swap that steering wheel into it, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

As it is, we might order a replacement next year, when my wife retires and we have time for an extended trip. I'm due for my retirement car.

Below is the current ride, with the old BMW in the background. 2013 Mini Roadster S, Kite Blue. The top is very rarely up. (Sadly, I've heard the Roadster is being discontinued for next year.)

Current car - 2014 Hyundai Sonata. For those who aren't 20 feet tall, in the arena of current retail vehicles, in the category of "most all-around driver space," at the top end you have 3 or 4 different models of Mercedes and BMW (all $50k plus) and... the Hyundai Sonata (and yes that does include large pickups, SUVs, etc.)

If you are within the normal human size range, there are other vehicles that are pretty much strictly better. But it's the only vehicle I've ever driven that isn't excruciating after about an hour.

I almost wound up with a Sonata Limited Turbo, but the dealership advertising it that I had called and spoken to 30 minutes prior turned out to be baiting & switching me after I arrived, saying it had "just sold" but let us show you a bunch of Fiat's cause you're 3 feet tall.

Wound up getting a 2013 Nissan Altima coupe and am enjoying it, pretty good pickup for a 4-liter

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. I modded the hell out of that thing. HID headlights, tinted tail lights, short throw shifter, lowered, front strut brace, rear sway bar, endlinks front and back, warm air intake, blue LED lights all interior including footwell lights, aftermarket spoiler, tinted windows, G35 forged rims, probably more that I've forgotten.

I gave it up for a truck for my business. The car was great but I couldn't move plywood around in it very well.

My favorite is my current: 2015 Acura MDX with SH-AWD and the Advance Package. This car, though an SUV, handles like a much smaller car. And with all the cameras and sensors, I can drive and park it much more safely than I could my last several cars. Best features: follow behind cruise control that keeps a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, and the LKAS which is capable of reading the lanes in the road and steering for you. Between those 2 features, the car literally drives itself (in adequate road conditions, and only steers for you above 45 mph). It's pretty awesome.

Also, Guinness, have you driven a modern automatic? Most of them come with paddle shifters so you can drive in manual mode, except clutch-less, so the response of the shifts are even faster. Way more control than in a manual. The manual transmission is dead, sorry to say. I believe F1 race cars use this same style clutch-less manual transmission now.

Hey, that's my car! Well, mine is black but its a 2013 Roadster-S too and the top is rarely up. It is a fun ride but not my favorite car. I will have to think about that.

The nicest car I ever owned was a 2000 Porsche 911 Convertible in 2005. It was emerald green with tan leather and a burl wood steering wheel. It was a tiptronic 5 speed since it was my daily driver. I have also had a 2000 BMW Z3 and a red '89 Mercedes 560, each for just a year or less.

I have also had a Miata and Mini convertibles that I really liked.

But my favorite is a tossup. I had a burgundy '89 Toyota Cressida I drove for 5 years in the 90's. I really loved that car! It has to be my favorite but close behind is the '03 black/black Acura CLS coupe that I drove on a 5-month 20,000 mile, trip across the US, Canada and Mexico back in '06. That car got me over alot of mountain ranges and across more than one desert:)

Heard great things from friends about the MDX. I'm still looking forward to the 2016 Maxima, car just looks so fucking boss

That's probably going to be out next vehicle.

Favorite car I owned was a 2004 VW GTI VR6 (manual). Currently have a 2012 VW TDI (manual), which is similar and gets twice the mileage, but it's not quite the same.

Unlikely the actual production car will look like that. No way Nissan is going to be able to successfully promote a full-size sedan with rear doors better suited for small dogs than one's elderly parents.

My favorite was the 2003 SLK32. When I mashed the accelerator it felt like it was a plane was going to take off.
I also had a '64 Corvair convertable (got in around '98 and had it about 5 years). It was fun for a while and a good conervsation piece but a royal pain in the ass.

As a proud resident of the place where they build these (half of the people I know work there, or have worked there) I encourage you to purchase this vehicle and support our local economy. :D

If you can make one fall off the back of a truck for the right price I can hook you up with a finders fee
