Favorite Pizza (9 Viewers)

Maybe this was already addressed, and the idea is probably anathema to those posting... But has anyone found a halfway decent brand of frozen pizza? I would like to have something I could keep in the freezer for emergencies...
Not sure available in NY, but Home Run Inn frozen pizzas are good.

My go to is the "Sunshine Special"

Classic Pizza Sauce, Shredded Ham, Spanish Onion, Fresh Mushroom, Fresh Capsicum, Kalamata Olives, Anchovies, Mozzarella, Oregano & Garlic. Finished With Parsley.

LOVE Anchovies and Olives....and white wine. :D

Sammy’s pizza in Green Bay. Man, I love this pizza.

There are some exceptions, there are places that sell New York style slices that are triangle cut. But 90% at least cut squares, on thin crust pizza in the area I live.

Pizza in the Midwest is always cut like this
Am finding this thread really interesting. Some very strong regional preference differences of pizza eaters shown. For my family (gathered around a PC) many of the pizza pron pics illicit negative stunned reactions. The last one may taste good but my first reaction was to return it and seek a refund, just on appearance. Yet others were instant wow reactions.

Not trying to knock other's pizza prefs. More just stunned how wide prefs are. And how much variety of pizza the US has.

Maybe I need a pizza tour of US.

We have a place here in our county (Petaluma, California, US) that makes deep-dish “Chicago Style” pizza that is absolutely to die for. Named, fittingly, Old Chicago Pizza. Its amazing.

Pepe's original pie in New Haven! L&B Spumoni upside down pie in Brooklyn!
Fantastic picks. L+B was mandatory every time I went to go hang with my college buddy in Staten Island. I pay the toll to go over the Goethals bridge to come and hang out and he bought the pizza. Fair trade.

I've heard good things about Zuppardi's in West Haven. Pepe's Margherita with pepperoni that I had earlier this year was unreal.

If you're ever in Central Jersey, try and stop at DeLucia's. My current favorite.

Going to ask the wife of we can go to Delorenzo's one weekend next month.

As a former student in New Haven I’m of course partial to Pepe’s and Sally’s and Modern. But I also think the pizza at BAR is also terrific, maybe even my favorite. Classmates think this is blasphemy when I say it.

Note: Not a big fan of non-New Haven Pepe’s locations, such as the one at Mohegan. Still far above typical pizzeria fare, but doesn’t hold a candle to the original.

Zuppardi's is great and yes, Delorenzo's too! Honestly so many great spots in NJ, NY, and CT. Tottono's in Coney Island is also a crown jewel.

Originally from CT but also a former student from New Haven and couldn't agree with you more! I don't love the over-commercialization and chain that is becoming of Pepe's. And 100% - BAR pizza is absolutely incredible. It's in the shadows of the local historical pizza institutions, but damn, they make such a good pie, let's be honest.

I assume that’s a specific brand?
South of Boston, there’s something known as south shore bar pizza. It’s a very specific thing. It’s a 10 inch pizza cooked in a pan with a crust that’s thicker than thin crust, but still thin and kinda dense. It’s made with tomato sauce and either a cheddar mozzarella blend or all cheddar, sauce cheese and toppings all the way out to the edge, which gets crisped or burned by the pan.
Anyway, it’s really good. But if I have anything to add to this conversation, it’s that there are so many different styles of pizza and I think I love them all.

It’s a bar/club that also serves incredible pizza.
