MAJOR RAT ROD UPDATE!!!!
inc long Festive Folio….
Thanks to the wonderful wonderful work of
@Gear, I’ve taken a really big step forward with the rat rod set.
Since the beginning, I’ve known fracs were going to be a problem. There’s nowhere near enough fracs for the stakes I want to use this set for to use all unique chips and they’re quite expensive.
Fortunately, a misunderstanding while describing a much worse idea to
@Wifey led to the concept of doing a variety of labels replicating existing chips in the set to make mixed racks that have the feel of rat rod set.
And thus, these were born:
Chris did an absolutely fantastic job creating nickel and quarter labels replicating 10 inlays I selected from the rat rod set.
Of course also much thanks to the mill man
@Josh Kifer and
@Nanook who murdered some of the blazes.
I think the results speak for themself in the pr0n below but I couldn’t be happier. It has the feel of RR with a mix of inlays in play and I think it’s a fun selection of eras, origins, and aesthetics.
Look at that happy family! More whites and yellows are an endless project but this will mostly be for 5¢/5¢ and 10¢/10¢ so this is more than enough. Bank of almost $1,000 and a bit over $400 without the $25s.
As you can see I’m also continuing to widen the chips that can be included as I focus on having the most consistent base color possible. This reflects a shift in priority from when I first allowed for a wide range of base colors but only wanted inlaid
THC chips used in casinos to now only wanting only white chips but allowing basically any 39mm Paulson $1 be it households, hot stamps etc.
Some splash pots:
Look at those radioactive blaze solids.
Lastly, a funny thing to note. Because of my decision to change from red to yellow $5s and to eliminate a whole bunch of $1s I had, several of the chips replicated in these fracs are now no longer actually in the set. Just a silly artifact of the constantly changing mind of a chipper. I don’t mind
