And that's exactly where you should spend the money...
Agreed. Yet I keep coming back and looking at the price on those Gorilla legs and wondering
Looking forward to the build!
And that's exactly where you should spend the money...
For that price are they that much better than these?

I like these, low profile and they don't get in the way:There’s a few threads on them. Not sure if they’re that much better for the cost, but it does sound like they are bar-none the most stable/sturdy legs available. Same as WSOP table legs to boot.
Here’s Chanman‘s thoughts..

I'd go with the $120 Hafele legs @bsdunbar1 posted if wanting to save some coin. Much better design than the Metalkrafts. Can anyone compare these with the MetalKraft equivalent?

I’m certainly open to knocking $100 off my build cost.
Yes - same as I posted but cheaper!I'd go with the $120 Hafele legs @bsdunbar1 posted if wanting to save some coin. Much better design than the Metalkrafts.

Those might be needed! You never know when we’re gonna have “guests” by the studio again!I may have to go with the Rockler setup for the reviews alone...
“Seriously.”

Or if a table needs to withstand some repeated lateral impact...Those might be needed! You never know when we’re gonna have “guests” by the studio again!
The only use I have found for the leftovers

After a bunch of research, I think I’m going with the Hafele legs. They look good for the price.
And after seeing Gorilla arbitrarily hiked their price from $169 to $189 a few months ago, I just can’t support that kind of price gouging. It seems like a great product, just way overpriced.

I need to order two more, if @justsomedude isn't going to build my tables for meYou will love them.
The Hafele legs have also had a significant price increase from Amazon and Rockler up to $153.
Use that link I posted above, they are still semi-reasonable @ $119. I just got a pair from them the other day.
Is that for birch ply? That’s a good price...its at least $10/ sheet more over here. And just want to confirm that you aren’t going with a raised rail right? All materials are in place and the shop is setup and ready for the build to begin. I'll start posting progress shots tomorrow.
The final/actual price breakdown based on my parts purchases is below for anyone who is interested...

I could've saved $30 on the rail cost by using vinyl instead of leather, and another $50-$60 by using cheaper table legs, but I just figured... fuck it.

Following along intently and eagerly awaiting the mistakes.
They aren't mistakes. It's bespoke. And I’m just kidding about the mistakes man. I did a lot of research before my build too and I’ve only built the one table. I was very happy not to encounter any obstacles and I don’t think I made any mistakes.
+1 that's how you know it's handcraftedThey aren't mistakes. It's bespoke.
Very true. If you want things perfect, call @T_ChanThey aren't mistakes. It's bespoke.

Just posted my build. Didn't take as many pictures along the way as I thought I had but I got some. Oh yeah and electric turkey carving knife and heat gun are lifesavers if you have access to them. Not necessary, but basically poker table building cheats/hacks.Will be interested to follow along. I just finished my back up table build last night!

Stretching the vinyl/rail covering. It helps reduce wrinkles. Not sure about leather though...Got the carving knife. What’s the heat gun for?
