Flamingo Lounge Cash Set Design (1 Viewer)

I'm not an experienced chipper here so I don't have any advice, but I really liked seeing the personal touches come into this set. I just lost my father recently, and the way you were able to memorialize those special moments is really touching. It might just be a poker chip, but it can mean so much more than the number on the face.

I love the flamingo design, great job on the evolution. Would love to see a Cut Card themed as well
The ones I did through @Potsie1 turned out great!

Would love to do some plastic ones as well but haven't gotten around to designing one yet...

I appreciate the sentiment and agree about the chips having meaning, especially in this case with everyone I love represented so proudly.

Also, I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. It will be a journey filled with good days and bad days. Losing a parent leaves a void that feels unfillable, but with love and support it will soon be full of new memories, stories and laughter remembering the man you loved.

It may be silly to offer, but if you ever need it I am always around to lend an ear.

Fresh out of the box. Bad lighting and all. Incredibly emotional. I couldn't be happier. Hoping for a proper photoshoot very soon on the Flamingo Lounge table to post the set in the Customs forum. In the meantime I wanted to share this here to show the finshed product.

Immediate waterworks when I saw the Jet 5 and thought of my dad. I genuinely think the Bomber 20 is one of the best things I have designed up to this point. The pictures do not do it justice, it is a BANG ON replication of that helmet.

I am completely blown away and over the moon! Good night!! I need a nap!!!

Wow, these really look amazing. How did you get the reverse top hat and cane stamps?
Thank you! I ordered direct from Tina and was able to choose my mold. I am not a fan of greek mold for most sets, web mold is going to be used for my next set so it felt like the best choice for me in the moment.

Congrats. That is a fabulous set. Stoopid noob question. ...This is a ceramic chip? ...really have to do some more searching here...
Thank you! It was definitely a labor of love and wild to see how much my process changed over the course of the year-plus design process.

Yes, these are ceramics that are purchased through Tina as part of a monthly group buy around here and they can be customized completely.

These are their more recent hybrid offering, which prints the chip through sublimation printing with a recess in the chip for a label to be applied. Labels are printed to the specification of the order (matte, textured, etc) and then applied to the printed blanks before being shipped to the customer. They also offer chips that are textured, no-mold (fully flat ceramics) and cards mold (ceramics with a mold and the label art printed directly onto the chip during sublimation).

These hybrids have felt like a huge step up in quality for ceramics and I think they are a wonderful chip for people looking to go fully custom or people who aren't in the market for clay (Paulsons, CPC, etc.)

I designed my chips through the paulson chip creation tool available on site and my inlay/label design in Canva, then handed that info to @timinater , who turned those raw files into Adobe Illustrator files that Tina used to produce the chips.

Any more questions or anything else, feel free to shoot me a message!

Now that this chip set is designed out, I've also started toying with a re-design of my playing cards. Looking at going poker jumbo index, fully custom faces and backs, and fully plastic for durability.

Growing up my folks had a million decks of those Caspari bridge decks that had the gold border on the backs surrounding floral photo prints so I wanted to merge that vibe with a more traditional casino-style card back.

Deck colors tbd, but I've been working with these so far...

Great job on everything. This project turned out great! I enjoyed watching it evolve into reality.
Thank you for your kind words! It really was a labor of love and I've enjoyed the creative process so much. I just keep finding more and more things to slap a Flamingo on (playing cards, cut cards, plaques, napkins, matchbooks, glassware, I've even explored the idea of custom neon) etc. etc. That way I just get to keep playing in this sandbox that makes me so happy.

Beware of thick fonts with lateral symmetry for your card values. Sometimes it can be difficult telling between 5, 6, 8, and 9 at a distance. Broken Arrow cards had this issue initially.
Yes, that is something I am planning on testing out when I get to my prototyping phase of printing a handful of them true to size. Almost all of the numbers for this font have feet and different characteristics so I am hoping it won't be an issue, but even if it is I just get to play with more fonts...haha. I remember the first set of decks from Broken Arrow were a problem that way and I definitely don't want to pay a bunch of money for customs and have them be duds. I genuinely appreciate the thoughtfulness and suggestion!
