Floating frame with or without air-tites (1 Viewer)

Wondering if anyone has experience with something like this floating/3D frame from SF Display:

I have a small grouping I might want to put in this type of frame and wondering if air-tites would be beneficial.
They note a silicone membrane keeps it in place and not sure how that effect a chip long term. Thanks!
