If you're relatively new to chipping and you haven't had a good opportunity to get in on a set of BCC chips, I highly encourage you to get in on the chips that @Apache recently made available to us at an incredible price...

It's extremely rare that you find new, compression molded chips at $1.40ea these days, and even more so to find them from BCC. Their chips are basically a combination of TRK's colors with a Paulson-esque formulation - and in my opinion, broken in BCC chips have the superior feel to them. Sometimes their inlays came out wonky - their James Bond replicas are a perfect example - but when they got it right, they really knocked it out of the park.

The Desert Palms line offer some great colors and deals like this don't come by every day. If you've even had an inkling of curiosity about the BCC product, don't let these slip away without you placing an order. Remember...

I could never warm up to the inlay design or the mold markings, but there's no getting around that the Desert Palms are some of the nicest color-combination and best handling chips that BCC ever produced. A full set at those prices in today's clay market is an incredible deal.

I almost insta snapped on these but wasnt sure about the breakdown with 25k and 100k. I can't decide between these, a bunch of the AC Boardwalks or a solid tourney set of CPC. blah and no, I don't have the money to get them all:)

Totally get where you're coming from. All three options have their pros and cons, and I don't think you go wrong with any of them. In response, I'll simply offer three points that may help inform your decision...
  • New BCC chips hit the market maybe once a year. Maybe. And new compression clay chips hit the market at this price once a never. Seriously. It just doesn't happen.
  • You can always buy ceramic chips next month. Barring catastrophe, you can buy CPC's next month. You may not be able to buy the BCC chips next month, and it's entirely possible that you wouldn't even find a used set of these chips hit the market in a year.
  • If you buy the Desert Palms you can very likely resell them at cost, or possibly slightly below. If you sell them at a slight cost, consider it a nominal rental fee (frankly, that's how it goes with many non-casino chip sets). Even my first china clay set of 500 chips with a poor breakdown sold at no more than a $40 loss (I think it was only a $25 loss, but I can't recall the exact figures). The point is, it's not a $700 loss if you don't like them, and because it's a quality, stock set with great colors you can likely move the chips with relative speed and ease.

The breakdown is a little different than your "normal" tourney set but could work pretty well. I'd probably go with T25k starting stacks:

8 - T25
13 - T100
7 - T500
5 - T1k
3 - T5k

36 chips for T25k

That's enough for 10 starting stacks and you can use the T25k chips for rebuys. It's a little cumbersome starting with that many denominations, but I think would make for a cool deep-stack style tourney.

Would also be a snap call for me if I wasn't like $2k in the "chip hole" this year, lol.

Someone tell me what to do!

I currently have a 600 tourney chip set made by chipco and was planning on getting 600-1000 of the sun fly AC's for another tourney set. If I get these, I'm probably not using all the values, right? Also, wouldn't be able to get the AC's because this would put me over what I should be spending. Buy these, sell the current set, hope to somehow buy more of these at some point and call it good? I'm indecisive today and also talking to myself right now hah.

absolutely agree with the OP, the best bang for your buck. Plus @Apache is great to deal with

I'm sure you guys would all tell me to scoop these and who am I kidding now that I'm a $50 deposit into the AC's I can't let that go to waste.

Nice share, @Psypher1000 and great advice. I love BCCs, even more than Paulsons believe it or not, but I'm with BG - the inlay design just doesn't quite do it for me. Otherwise that's an easy snap-up!

Chase, only you can decide that one. I'm not sure what $50 equates to in the USA but here in Aus it's just a slab of beer. I can waste $50 on Friday night damaging my liver! Or lose $50 playing 25c/50c with my mates :) Happy chipping.

Or sell that $50 deposit, or ask for a refund after orders are paid for. I'm sure @Tommy will work it out for you.

Wow, those are the ones I just sold Josh -- miss them already. Hope they find good homes. Take care of my babies!

I still appreciate those Golden Gate quarters buddy

I still miss them! Although of all chips, the price of them has probably remained the most consistent. I think I had them with a PNY cash set which I sold for a buck a chip, although personal preference I found them too slippy (great looking chips though).

Chips in the OP are a great deal though.
