Hey Guys,

I've been lurking for awhile, but decided I have to join to feed my ever growing chip addiction. I've always been a casual player, usually just in small home games or with family playing with different versions of the 'official casino weight' slugged chips. After growing tired of playing with such bland/slippery 'clay' chips I knew it was time to start looking into some higher quality chips.

Thus far I've been more partial to pricing than I am to certain casinos or home-market chips, and have picked up a few reasonably priced deals on eBay. However, the more chips I find the harder it is to say no to paying more for some truly breathtaking designs. My first buy was a well used rack of 50 $1 The Club (Chipco) and 50 $1 Bremerton Lanes (Paulson RHC) for $45 shipped. I then scooped up a barrel of Gold Star Casino $5s (Paulson) for $10.50 shipped. I'm a big fan of the 'clink' of the Chipco ceramics, but the Paulson 'clack' is equally impressive.

The above chips have satiated my addiction for the time being, but every new listing on eBay or in the classifieds here brings more temptation. When you own so few chips it's hard to say no to broadening the collection, but I'd imagine that excuse will only last for so long. I'm looking forward to adding to my future hoard (Those old ChipRoom buys looked amazing) and to the great community here at PCF.

Ceramics have grown on me over the years. I have one ceramic tourney set now and a new set on the way. Welcome to PCF!

Welcome!

As another newbie to the forum and running into the same dillema, I know exactly what you mean ! Good luck on your search and hope it works out well for you too!

Good luck on expanding your chip collection. I started off only wanting a nice cash set for a game I host. I now have multiple cash sets and currently putting together another one. I also found a love for Vegas chips both old and new so that has grown as well. I also started collecting sample chips. The list never ends and oops I almost forgot I recently got bitten by a small bug called the "TRK Bug" although I try to keep from scratching it to prevent it from getting bigger I know the bug bite is still there!!

You may want to get used to an empty PayPal Account because it seems that every time you fund it the money leaks out.

Good Luck and Chip On!!!

what?!?!@?!? Was i sleeping?!?!?!?!

Haha, I've spent far too much time combing the internet for new chip listings over the last couple of months trying to add to my very small collection. The $45 Club/Bremerton 100X was from a posting on the chipboard, and the 20x $10 Gold Star lot was a eBay auction. For a new guy like me I was ecstatic to find casino used chips for under .50/ea shipped, but nonetheless I get a little nauseous when looking at old sales (ChipRoom/Here/eBay/Etc) where you could frequently find far better chips for the similar $ (and often less). I suppose that the good thing about the rise of prices over the last 18 months or so is that my wallet would be far lighter if those kind of sales were available routinely today.
