I just started playing poker and im about to build a set. I am probably going for the Monte Carlo chips from Apache poker chips but im in Canada and the delivery is really expansive so im thinking to buy from Sraight Poker Supplies but i dont find any review of their chips. Do they have similar quality Chips with smooth edges ?

I have a micro stakes cash set of Monte Carlo smooths that I am not using anymore. Not sure what the shipping costs would be to Canada for 700 chips. It has 5 cent chips up to $10 chips. Sounds like it might be a perfect fit if you like the Monte Carlo chips. DM me if you are interested.

If these are still available I would be interested. Sent private message

I am in a similar situation. I have been looking at getting a set of middle-of-the-road chips. I have a few buddies that play. we play 1/1 or an 8-player tourney. I was looking at the Dunes poker chips https://www.apachepokerchips.com/product/dunes-clay-poker-chips/, but it gets expensive for a 500 set. Does anyone have any suggestions or better options? I like the tri-colored chips and something better than the old dice set we had in college. Also does mixing and matching between sets a no-no? Thanks.

5¢ chips? I didn't think those came in less than $1. Is that a recent change? How old are your chips.

I just started looking and haven't bought anything yet. I was thinking about the Monte Carlos for a $25 - $1000 tournament set.

There’s a ton of options, if you can share what your rough budget is / how much you want to spend in total then folk can point you in the right direction.

I’m partial to the Nexgens for feel & price, but not everyone is a fan (price is 22c-35c depending on quantity bought):

Also recommend searching for Tina Hybrids from @justincarothers on the forum. They’re probably in the 50c+ per chip region, so similar to the other Apache options.

Some folk sell sample sets (i sold mine recently) that have a mix of the different options, I got some samples from Apache, BrPro and Tina Hybrids. Really big difference in feel between ceramic and the other options so it’ll be subjective to what you prefer.

GL!
