As far as I know most (if not all) casinos in Australia use Dolphin brand chips. They are very similar to BJ chips. It looks like GPI still plan to make the same chips instead of just getting rid of the competition, wish they would get rid of them though because then we may have a slim chance of getting Paulsons down under.

Also brings up the question of whose next on GPIs radar.

When you can buy out your competition for under $6 million, sounds pretty good. Gemaco was bought for around this price, and BCC was...about $1-2 million I think. I don't know who is next in this price range, as all of the remaining firms I can name around the world would sell for more than this.

I was a bit surprised by the $5.9m price tagged also. But reading the previous media release it almost sounded like Dolphin wanted to leave the casino market anyway so I guess they're really just selling the equipment and intellectual property. They will also receive a % of future sales over the next 5 years from existing customers.

Just imagine it... Local Aussie casinos switching out all their chips (including their $1s) for Paulsons! We can only dream of such harvesting opportunities!

Yeah at least get new $1s in Adelaide. The $1s here are feather weight crap.

Probably worse I reckon. Yours has cross hatching at least.

These are smooth plastic. Printed face that gets rubbed off. Weigh about 1 gram and slippery as hell. Impossible to stack more than 4 high.

Hey stocky.

Do you know if crown use dolphin chips for their MTTs.

They look like Matsui chips bit my chip knowledge is fairly sub par

Oh my lord.

You poor, poor, people. What the hell are your casinos thinking?? (although I kind of like the Skycity chip, would be cool on a Paulson.)

Good thing your country is so awesome otherwise I would ask why you are still living there with those kinds of chips on the loose!!! ;)

From I'm seeing on the chip guides aussie chips are BJ. They don't feel exactly the same as BJ chips to me but who knows.

Man if only the chips were the worst thing. Rake in casinos in Aus is killer and games don't run that much.
