...so that black book they had with all the names of people who tried to scam the with fake casinos....that's gone too?
Bud Jones are still made in Mexico I believe.
My guess is that they had to loosen their protocols with all the people working remotely due to the pandemic. With all the info people post on social media sites, Linked In, etc., it has become extremely easy for the bad guys to con you into believing they are someone else. Lots of login credentials are stolen that way.

They surely don't need production secrets like material formulas and whatnot to be accessible via the network though.
For those who are wondering what is GPI France?
Are new casinos in Europe still ordering lots of plaques, or are they switching over to American-style chips?
I could see these dying out over time due to the global nature of gaming today, and televised poker...

If it’s plastic chips and plaques you’re after, you’ll be in heaven. Just don’t expect to find much in the way of Paulsons over here, they’re few and far between.
I’ve actually wondered if GPI even offers/sells Paulson chips over here anymore or if customers just don’t want them.
Cost prohibitive if not locally (EU) manufactured, probably.
That was my thinking too. It would be interesting in any case to know if GPI does actively promote their Paulson and BJ lines over here, or if the focus is primarily on the Bourgogne-et-Grasset stuff, which is made in France afaik. While almost every casino over here seems to use plastic, I've never paid enough attention to figure out if it's mostly BG, Abbiatti, BJ, etc. I know there are indeed some Paulson chips out there, but nothing new from what I've seen.
My understanding is that for new customers, non-US sales reps assume low-end BJ chips are wanted, and US sales reps assume that RHC Paulsons are wanted -- and they structure orders appropriately unless instructed otherwise.
Makes some economic sense, since those are the two lowest production cost cash checks they make.

There are affordable CNC mills out in the wild already. The metal is expensive, but can still be managed as a private individual. Should be able to get at least a part of the machinery already.

There was no systems compromised in the French company and production could have resumed with no delay. But Angel management has no understanding of computers and asked to shutdown everything and throw every devices to the trashbin ...
There is an old saying in French that says something like "When you want to kill your dog, you say that it has rabbies" and that is exactly what people at Beaune are thinking about this massive layoff because shady stuff had begun long before the hacking episode.
More recent news is that there is a lawsuit and investigation pending against Angel that are accused of stealing technology from a business partner

You're right Shigeta threw a lot of money to buy the company (13.75$ per share that were valued around 8$)
But he had really no choice as Angel was unable to make quality chips itself and GPI refuses several times to sell the France subsidiary alone. (And I'm not talking about all the RFID related patents)
For those who thinks it's easy to make BG chips, you're wrong ! The plastic compound used was very specific and the multiple shots (up to 6) that are part of the chips have caused nightmare to several injection molding engineers over the years
