Greetings from San Diego (1 Viewer)

Welcome!

I’m in North County SD, looking to start a home game early next year if you’re interested. New table on order and working on my first custom cash set.

Have some pics of your WTHC you can share?

Cheers

Kam

Hey Kam,

I don’t really play cash games, preferring to stick to my monthly home tournaments- much more relaxed that way. Poker’s never about the money for me, just a great way to relax with friends and drink good beer.

Always happy to share some photos of my chips, with a couple of shots of my beloved custom table thrown in for good measure. I’ve had these chips for about 13 years. Really wish I’d bought less $5s and more $1000s at the time. Might look to try and trade a few, once I get enough privileges here .

Cheers!

Yeah I don’t think it’ll be an issue to find some folk to trade with, there is a Trade option under the classifieds once you get access. There’s likely a few members that’ll have what you’re looking for (
- and lots of eyes will light up when they see your chip stash ;)

Nice table - did you build yourself or have someone build it?

Forgot to say, another option might be to relabel some other chips for your 1000 denom if there isn’t a trade that works for you. @Gear can do labels to match or be similar to most sets.

Yeah, had never thought of that as an option. I’ve seen some of @Gear’s work- pretty cool!

I had Bill Dunbar at PPL Poker build it for me. He did a beautiful job. Got a hi-res image from Natalie, the owner of Russian River to use for the cloth.

About a possible chip trade- do the different denom’s tend to trade 1 for 1 or, as seems to be the case on eBay, would $1000s command a slightly higher ‘price’ than $5s, for example?

Good question, in my limited experience here looks like the higher denoms are typically made in less volume and sell for more since there’s less availability.

Will defer to another PCFr to give their insight on the trades (I’ve bought and sold but not traded yet).

I would think the 5's would command a better price. Doubtful you will find someone to trade 5's for 1k's anyway but I'm I positive you can sell the 5's & make $ to buy the 1k's.

Thanks, sounds like a good plan. I’ll probably give trading a try first, on the off-chance, and if nothing pans out, trying selling some $5s. If that’s the case, would I have more luck selling them on PCF or on eBay, where the asking prices seem crazy but do they ever really shift at those prices?
