Guns you own (6 Viewers)

Hi everyone- I've been going to the range with my friend who is a member of a shooting range and shooting my Walther PPQ M2. I'm probably going to get a membership soon as it's close to my house. I've been loving it. My friend let me try his Sig which I didn't love as much as my gun. However, he let me shoot his Diamonblack DB2 rifle and I love it. In Jersey we can't own a true AR-15 according to my friend so he got this DB2 which has a 10 round limit. I love the feel and action of his DB2 and am considering getting this one as my next purchase. I think I am seeking a rifle that fires both 556 and 223mm Ammo(I could be wrong, but I was thinking that you can fire 223 in a gun that is 556, but not the other way around). Have any of you on here had any experience with Diamondblack? Or is there something you could recommend besides DB? Below are some links to the Diamondblack. Thanks.

you want something in .223 wylde that means it is a hybrid that can fire .223 or 5.56

Just build your own it is really easy to assemble and that way you can find the best deals on stripped lowers, an upper receiver, a stock etc. and build a cheaper gun. Prior to last year I built several for under $300

check out the kits at palmetto state armory

Also the 10 round limit isn't because of the firearm it is because of the magazine. your commie state doesn't allow standard capacity magazines.

My latest pickup yesterday. I was deciding between a revolver and this. As I already own a Walter PPQ M2 5" I was thinking revolver, but I just wasn't feeling a revolver and decided on the Springfield Armory 1911 below. I really loved the Green Military Operator Version

Springfield makes, but I couldn't find that one in stock where they would ship to a NJ FFL Dealer and besides the wife didn't love the $1300+ price tag of that one.

It gets alot more 'spensive down the 1911 road......

When I told my wife that I was going lay off of guns and start building chips sets, she got so relieved. LIttle did she know lol.. And every time I see this thread update, this pops into my head.

No kidding. I have actually been lucky with guns lately. The prices are coming back down. Probably because most people can't afford to shoot them lol
Not here..... Guns and ammo are nuts. Can't add to my safe anymore. DEPRESSING.

Always always always use a one time credit card at PSA. They lose information constantly and groups will get false charges on your card. Privacy.com has a great free one time credit card app.

Huh, wasn't aware of that. I'll have to watch out.

Yikes I bought Ammo from them like 2-3 months ago. Hopefully it is not an issue. My accounts I never store any saved payments except for maybe Amazon. Thanks for the heads up. I'll avoid buying from them again.

I'd buy, just spoof the number on privacy for free.

I always promote home-building over store bought. You can save a ton of quiche, pick the exact parts you want, and have the joy of putting it together yourself.

Although admittedly I've stuck to completed uppers lately, just because I hate dealing with barrel nuts. And Aero has so many damn configurations now, that it's pretty easy to find the exact setup you want.

If you find an upper you love, then all that's really left is cherry picking your lower, LPK, grip, FCG, BCG, foregrip (if desired), charging handle, sights/red dot, buffer, buffer tube, end plate, and stock. Even the most unskilled noob builder can put together the primary parts of a lower in about an hour. Maybe bump it up to 90 minutes if you really take your time.

As for tools all you really need is an AR-15 armorers wrench (mostly for the castle nut), a set of quality punches, a ball-peen hammer or jewelers mallet, some masking tape (so you don't mar your build), and you're good to go. A set of hex wrenches and some loctite might come in handy as well.

This video is a must-have bookmark for any home-builder. It slowly walks you through each and every step, and has saved my hide a few times when I've forgotten something. I'll be honest, I probably spend more time on that stupid pivot pin retainer and spring than any other part of the build, because I'm stubborn and refuse to buy "the specific tool"...

EDIT: And if you buy a completed upper, your work is done at the 24:00 mark in the video.
A major tool that I believe is also necessary is a torque wrench. Barrel and castle nuts have specific torque recommendations for a reason. You also should a mag block and something to secure the upper receiver in a vice to work on.
I prefer this https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/MI-Upper-Receiver-Rod-p/mi-urr.htm
I’ve seen lots of ARs built by people choke at the range or in classes even not counting mag related issues. 90% of the parts out there are junk and there are still really only a few companies using proper materials and adhering to spec.
For anyone interested in building or wrenching on ARs I HIGHLY recommend watching this guys videos

But, yes, assembling a lower is relatively easy…assigning the lower is in spec.
With the mad rush on guns and parts this past 18 months I’m personally not buying anytime of critical component. Out of spec parts have been rampant

Just got back from the range, zeroed in the red dot on my Ruger AR 556- love it, so simple- being a Ruger I trust it more than my PSA stuff... may be unwarranted, but they know what they are doing …I think.

Also checked my CZ pistol, first time I've shot it since replacing the trigger bar spring and installing short reset and new hammer spring... it's Butta'. My god I love ths gun, trigger pull must be around 3.5 lbs. The groups I get with this thing...

I feel like a gun nut with many of the last few posts being mine... but anyway, this is a pellet gun I grabbed to help with garden pests. It is a Gamo Fusion 10x 22 cal (has a 10 round magazine). Built in sound dampener (not a suppressor...I'm not sure what that means). It came with a cheap scope so I grabbed a Vortex Crossfire II. , altogether a little under $400.00. Can shoot in the yard and no noise for neighbors to hear...I do have 11+ acres so I could have bought the real gun I wanted(Ruger mark IV with suppressor), but then it would have been illegal to shoot it in my town (shotguns only). Of course everything is legal until you get caught.

Had the scope 2 days and 9 critters down, it's paid for itself. Edit- 10 down.

Been thinking about something like this for a while. The damn groundhogs on my property must be wearing body armor. This or a suppressed .22

Yeah, noticed pistol caliber prices look like they are "thinking" about coming down out of the stratosphere.....

I just grabbed 400 rounds of .223 and 300 rounds of 9mm last night.
What did you pay for the 9mm? I found our local fleet farm store had great prices on 9mm, but has recently escalated prices to dumb levels…. they wouldn’t get ammo in often, but when they did, I could get a box or two of 9mm for $.30/rd. Now 9mm is around $.60/rd At our fleet farm store. I’m not desperate enough for 9mm to pay that.
