Heads Up Set - Pr0n Thread (2 Viewers)

What do I add or remove to make this a worthwhile heads up set? (I am game for whatever buy in, starting stack, and bid configuration that will have me adding as few chips as possible.)

It’s 100x$1s, 68x$5s, 32x$20s, 1x$100, and 5xNCVs.

Actually, it occurred to me that my other setup is probably stupid so I figure I’ll show it so that you all can see what I have (and how much of an idiot I am).

I'd play that as a T1 tourney set cause I'm not baller enough to play for $200 buyins. :)

There are two excellent breakdowns for heads-up sets that can play out of a rack:

$1,500 starting stacks. Use 2x $100 to color up $5s.
40x $5
40x $25
20x $100

Or

$7,000 starting stacks. Use 2x $500 to color up $25s.
40x $25
40x $100
20x $500

Edit: fixed my math because I got dumb for a minute.

Also, If you have those quantities, you can play the larger set for heads-up and a 25¢/50¢ cash set with the blue NCV as 25¢.

T200 (starting blinds 1-2 or 1-1 for deeper play) :

Starting stack :
20 x T1
20 x T5
4 x T20
+ 1 x T20 per player for color-up the T1

--> total = 40 x T1 / 40 x T5 / 10 x T20 (make it 20 x T20 to have a full rack) for heads-up

But I'd push it to :
40 x T1
40 x T5
30 x T20
To cover 4 players : 10/10/7 + 2 x T20 to color-up the T1

You pretty much have a small cash set with a STT tournament set. But I dont like to use same set for cash and tournament even though you might be hosting on different nights. It just gets too confusing esp. if people want to play cash after they bust out. I've been to a home game where they did this exact thing and it was hilarious. People that busted out wants to get chips for cash game...host/banker grabs a bunch of $25 chips from an empty tournament table bc he ran out of $25s. I'm like this is gonna be a nightmare at cashout so I left early. Never went back.

I love poker chips and use them when ever I get the chance. I have like 400 board games (that’s how I ended up here, buying chips for 18xx games). Any excuse to get ‘em out on the table. I love playing poker for fun just to handle the poker chips.

So the idea of having sets that are actually a good fit for the purpose is appealing.

Uhhhhhh....a shit ton!! The higher denominations...$500s, $1k and $5k seem pretty impossible to find. I'd pay an arm and a leg for a rack of each. :whistling:

So the guy i sold to already had 2000+ and i sold him 600...he might have around 3000 total. I've been emailing him few times a year over the past 5 years. One day he'll break

The only set to survive my oh shit I’m broke purge of 2018. Mostly used for OFCP, but great for any kind of heads up.

I’ve rebuilt this set this year. I was never comfortable with the condition of the Cali Bells, somebody wanted the Claim Stakes more than I did, and those gorgeous Burros - I dunno, I guess I sold them in a moment of weakness - they were worth too much to sit in a set where the quarters and dollars were about all that ever got used.
So here’s the new version. Not a lot of thought went into it - just chips in decent condition that were on the cheaper side. I still need a few more Rios, and maybe a few more after that, to replace the more worn ones, so if anybody’s got any extras, send them my way!
Since I used to play roulette (before I discovered poker) I’ve always loved the discovery cruises chips, but I’ve never thought any of them were quite right for any sets I’d built. So this was the perfect opportunity to own a few.
