Hi,

Never thought I'd do this but here we go...

I've been casually playing poker (random home games and online) from around 2000. Never been that active of a player and only visited the local casino once. I've been trying to get a frequent game going lately and thought it would be nice to have decent chips in play. I had a 300pcs set of Nevada Jacks ceramics that I got through an online promotion but never really liked it that much.

What happened next seems to be the what many have experienced before me. I got to thinking about getting a set of china clays and while I was trying to learn about the current chip market I got lured into lurking here at PCF. I always intended to do a quick hit and run (hence the stupid wordplay for a nick): get up to date about the info, buy my set of china clays and be done with the madness of putting ungodly amounts of money into poker chips that I don't get to use enough to justify the cost.

Most of you probably guessed it, I'm waiting on my first set of "real" clay chips as we speak. I found an ad on Nevada Jack clays set in Europe for reasonable price and went for it.

I hold you all responsible for my imminent financial despair and thank you at the same time for the guilty pleasure that comes with staring at poker chips for hours and of course all the information that I've got so far.

Perkele!

Hi. Come on in. Welcome to PCF. Today we'll serve a huge portion of black sausage, cowberry jam and ice cold milk.

Where do you live? I bunk at Tampere and there are couple of other finns around, one from Turku and another one
from near Tampere. Nevada Jack clays are awesome. Glad you were able to get some.

I have just sold a lot chips lately, used to have about 10 000 chips in some huge sets. Now....only two sets
with 1000 chipes each. A bit pathetic, but I'll manage. Well, one 200 chip travel set and one 110 chip headsup set also
are in my closet.

Be prepared to lose a lot of money on chipes.
Great to have you here.

Welcome! Turku here with ~8000 chips, mostly in smallish sets. :D

Got any pic of what you're getting?

Welcome to pokerchipforum.

Enjoy as much as you can your first chips set.

You will NEED another one very quickly.

There are Paulson Casino addicted, there is secret TRK mafiosi, there are also CPC lovers, and many more :D

Ok, got my eagerly waited package today. 651 Nevada Jack Clays, 125 T1, 155 T5, 180 T25, 106 T100, 53 T500 and 32 T1000.

Chips are in very good condition, I can't believe how sharp the edges are and I really like how these feel.

Really like the T100 and T5 chips and the bright pink spots on the T25. If anyone has some of these lying around I could possibly be persuaded to getting some more.

I guess I'm going to have to start figuring out a tournament structure starting with 1/2 blinds so I can use the T1 chips.

You could start with 5/10 blinds and use the T1 chips for antes. :D

Btw, what kind of a surface do you plan to play on?

HOLY FRAK! Lucky you, b/c you managed to snatch those. Those are marvellous chipes. Congratulations. Enjoy them.
Bring them to EUMU yes? You are attending yes?

Welcome! The Nevada Jack's look amazing!

Thank you, thank you very much!

We have been playing on a poker table, I'm not sure what the cloth actually is. @mipevi what did you have in mind?

EUMU might not be for me this year but who knows?

A poker table sounds about right. Just wanted to make sure those babies won't get splashed around without a padded table! (y)

If the edges feel very sharp, you could start shuffling the chips a bit. After a while the edges get (very slightly) rounded, the chips will feel better and are less likely to get fleabites when they hit other chips in the pot.
