Hi from Alpharetta, GA!

I primarily play in private league a couple of buddies and I started up some years back. We're going into our 9th season, playing once-a-month league tourneys from September thru April/May (during the school year here), with points accumulating as the season goes along to determine the over all winners.

Great group of guys! More social than cut-throat poker, though we do play to win.

I suck at taking pictures, but I'll try. Camera battery charging now. The only thing I have to show is my set of Proteges... and maybe a few samplers I bought when trying to decide what set to get.

Only? Absolutely nothing wrong with "only" having a set of Proteges. That is a top notch line of poker chips and we need some pr0n ASAP. :D

Oh and welcome to the forum.

Here's my Protege tournament set (like I said, I suck at taking pictures). Also have a cash set of them tucked away in a cabinet box somewhere. I'll try to dig those out sometime soon.

Welcome, Jacksfull ! Those Protege's are great chips.

Looking forward to hearing more details about your tournament league. Tom (Mr Tree) just started his fifth season (and has one of the nicest poker room setups in the nation), and the tournament series I run is in the middle of our 14th season. Always looking for more players and places to play!

Thanks! I was thinking of selling the Proteges since we don't use them much anymore. Used to carry them to our games when hosting floated, but now we have a permanent host with chips on-site.

We run two tables. Currently looking at 16 players for the upcoming season, though we've had as many a 20 in seasons past. It's a weeknight league; so in the interest of ending at a reasonable hour each table plays to its own winner with duplicate points awarded each month according to finish (and each table paying out its own nightly pot). Random draw for table/seat, so you get a different mix at your table each time. We cap off the season with a Saturday night grand finale that plays down to a single winner with points doubled, which makes for a pretty exciting climax since you can leap-frog from low or mid-pack into the season money with a good finish.

Regular league games are T3000 with blinds starting at 50/100. We use a Poker Genie programed with our custom blinds. Breaks every hour with good food, drink, and conversation.

I developed our points system and it works real well in that there is usually a lively battle for the top spots; trophies and payout through 5th for the season. Not sure if it's cool to post a link to our website.

We also host Saturday opens in between league games, sometimes tourneys - mostly T5000 Hold'em, though we have done a few HORSE nights, Omaha, or such - and some dealer's choice cash games.

My only personal regret is that it's a non-smoking venue. I need to find a cigar group to join too!

Welcome to the Forum.

I know @Joe Harris has been looking for some proteges for a long time.
