Just wanted to say hello. Yet another person brought in after watching several Hobbyphilic YouTube videos.

Ordered several samples as all seem to suggest. They tend to be ABS, China Clays and ceramics. Maybe I'll elevate to high-end clays in the (hopefully distant) future.

Already posted my question on building my casual tournament and cash sets. Received fast responses that had me up most of the night thinking about ordering.
Thanks again!!

I'll attach sample images below and will respond one I start ordering sets!

Monte Carlo (ordered Amazon received through The Poker Store)

The Ultimate (Amazon - ??)
Probably my least favorite sample set right now

Laurel Crown (Amazon - ?)
Note the 25,000 is slightly larger by design.

Nevada Jack Skulls (Buy Poker Direct)
Don't ask why I didn't get them from ABC Gifts and Awards or Customized Poker Chips.

I like these but feel the Nevada Jack Saloons may be more my speed.

Done for now but I have a few samples (ceramics) coming from BBO Poker Tables.

Welcome aboard. Have you seen the new día de los muertos at BR Pro? What is nice about those and the Tiki is you can customize the denominations.

After my initial post I was leaning towards

NexGen for Tourney
Pharaoh's for Cash Set ($0.05 for .05/.10 game)

But right before I ordered I started debating on making the Pharaoh's the tourney set...especially if there's any durability issues with the china clays? Any thoughts?

Welcome! Thoughts on the Laurel Crowns? I really like my samples.

Thank you.

At this time I like them better than the Scrolls, but
- there seems to be an imbalance issue because there are a few spinners in my sample size of 12 chips.
- I thought the texture was going to be a bigger concern for me but it’s always short lived before I move on.

So I still have the Nevada Jacks, Tiki, Valentino (if price isn’t an issue), and Nile Club above the Laurels.

The old Pharaohs had a flaking issue, but China Clay produced in the past 5 years or so have been solid. I have been quite happy with Majestics and CPS chips in the China Clay category - and both sets still see use.

Welcome to PCF!

So the samples from BBO Poker Tables came in. My wife didn't know I was receiving more samples so she texted me notifying me of the delivery saying, whatever I was expected is loose or broken.
All other chips were wrapped tightly and came in a padded envelope.
These....

With a little packing paper on top. Oh well, they are ceramic and seem undamaged.

Starting with the least favorite...
No Brainer:

Mainly because this set is the only one were the edges don't match the chip color.

The Mint:

Howdy Cowboy

These were why I ordered the sample set

Finally, the Casino De Paris

What's weird is as I load these images, the picture make these look much better than they do in person.
When I look and hold them, only the denominations on the Casino De Paris chips are easily readable. But in the pics they all look clear and more vibrant.
