Help Me Create A Premium Deck of Poker Cards! (8 Viewers)

OK, a "basic" casino style design took ages  :ROFLMAO:

I wanted to create something classic, with a border, something you could see in a casino and think nothing of... which is quite an art 2bh. Generic but for all the right reasons.

I think I've settled on something very similar to the following examples. 4way symmetrical. The first set in fun, modern versions of blue/red and green/purple, and the second set in more serious, classic versions of the same colours. Thoughts?

Project status update:

Faces: finished
Backs: finished
Box: WIP

Printers (with a reputation for premium PVC) contacted:

Piatnik: put me in touch with the rep for my region, referred me to print dept. - waiting to hear back
Fournier: chased, not yet heard anything back
Dal Negro: chased, not yet heard anything back

After a bit more research I also contacted Queen Playing Card & Trefl Games. Still waiting to hear back as only just reached out to them.

I think any of these print-houses would produce a premium PVC plastic Poker deck, so I really just want to hear back from them all asap so I can start working a few things out.

Cheers!

I must say that I'm surprised by Piatnik's quick communication and Dal Negro's slow communication.

Do you have the layout of all 52 card faces ready?

I prefer the classics.

One other quality PVC card is Marion Pro. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. Maybe someone else knows if they'll do custom work. Did you try contacting Angel?

Thanks @JMC9389 - yes all the faces are good to go

@davefr - yes sorry I forgot Angel, I have also contacted them but not heard back either. I got the impression from their website that they don't do full customisation, just logos etc. but I could be wrong. Will chase them again - thanks for reminding me :)

I will check out Kuo Kao thanks @RocAFella1

Right... Kuo Kao seem to be the printers behind Queen, who I've contacted already. Interesting.

I already have links to a couple of printers in China/Taiwan through my paper playing cards and I must say I have a very strong hunch that they print PVC for some of the big branded names in Casino playing cards but I doubt they'd ever tell me and finding out could be tricky, otherwise printing PVC with them is something of a risk (their paper is premium stuff but obvs a different thing).

Oh Lordy! I've kinda settled on Poker size for this one :( I'm hoping I'm in a position to do a Bridge version of the same deck at some point though...

OK... Index 1 or 2?? 1 looks slicker/more modern, 2 looks more traditional and maybe clearer at a glance? Or no difference?

I have asked places for quotes for Bridge & Poker

There seems to be a lot of people who would only buy Bridge, do we have any that would only buy Poker? Would most people use either? Cheers!

3. Poker versus bridge size: Definitely bridge size for the reasons I outlined in bullet point #1. A slightly smaller card makes it easier to handle mitt cards for games that use more than two hole cards. Bridge size cards are also used in most poker rooms and casino poker rooms and give more of an authentic feel for playing at the casino. What I find is that people that use only bridge cards outnumber the people that use only poker size cards. I'm in the camp that uses both (poker size for no limit hold 'em and bridge for anything else).

I think 2 is probably more legible/harder to confuse at a peek, but I agree it would be easier to say with a bigger sample.
