Help Me Create A Premium Deck of Poker Cards! (15 Viewers)

The poker vs bridge preference confuses me. I get that bridge cards are smaller. But it's only a 1/4" difference. Even if you're holding 5 cards in your hand, it's still only a 1/4" difference because the cards are layered as you hold them. And I personally think that shuffling a poker size deck is easier than a bridge size deck because of the extra width.
When it comes to shuffling, a lot has to do with the specific card stock. For example KEM's tend to be a little soft/limp and I actually prefer Poker size for the "crisper" shuffling. On the other hand, Fournier then to be a little stiff but in Bridge size they shuffle beautifully.

These are a nightmare for me. I appreciate 4-color decks even though I don't buy them. But this hybrid, where the pips are red and black with an added 4-color element - my brain hates it. There's a dissonance or something.
“I have a blue flush”

Good thing about these is you can play uno with them

Did you end up making a decision on bridge or poker sized cards? From the great designs you’ve posted so far it looks like the aspect ratio is that of a poker sized deck.

I know the opinions of bridge vs poker sized cards will rage on for eternity, but after switching to bridge I can’t ever see going back to poker sized cards and my group and I play NLH exclusively. Poker sized decks now feel cumbersome and the extra width unnecessary. I find the ‘longer’ deck easier to square off when collecting the muck and holding the stub feels more secure, but that might just be a me problem.

Really nice work with the index - they look quite similar in size to bridge Faded Spades which I think are the goldilocks when it comes to how quickly you can identify your cards as well as hand protection. While jumbo index looks great on the board, it often means having to peel your hole cards much higher to see the suit pip under the card value. I would think the larger the index, the more a card is susceptible to wear and tear from bending and capping damage.

Instead of cream or white box interior, how about a 4-color box? Black and red index/pips, but a pink/blue/gray/green interior?

It may look terrible, it may be fine - and end the endless "is that a club or a spade" question from the old guy at the end of the table.

This has literally been my argument for *years*

Anyone have any experience of the following, just stumbled across them this morning - ? - QUEEN PLAYING CARDS
I'm pretty sure I was contemplating using these for our work stock, but the price was too high for what we're trying to offer.

Felt them at G2E and they were pretty nice. I don't remember having anything to complain about.

I think Poker size for this deck

I think to keep things simple, will just park the 4col idea entirely and stick to a classic 2col design - it was a fun bit of exploration while it lasted though! I want the deck to have a refined, classic feel to run alongside the functionality and don't want to dampen that with experimental 4col additions. Final faces to look something very close to these examples, unless anything changes (which I guess is also possible):

Very cool! Do you mind me asking who you printed with, having considered Queens Playing Cards and decided against? No worries if it's not something you can share :) I take it you live and work in Vegas? Bit jealous 2bh

Some more fun cards. In custom/collectable paper playing card circles the artwork on these cards is very important, but I feel like around here it doesn't matter so much as long as everything is printed on good quality PVC and is functional/clear. Regardless, here is what I have come up with so far for anyone who is interested :)

The AoS I wanted a central bold piece of iconography that ties in with a classic, refined theme, and has historic links to playing cards. Something that could sit in a clean, uncluttered design. I chose a crown. The Jokers I just went for a classic Jester type character in traditional colours. Not life-changing but I think it hits about where it's supposed to!

Looks great in my eyes - well done!
Not reinvent the wheel.
Could you show a 4 and 7 please?
Does court cards never got a colored background - too dark?

Now a durable print on a nice stock.
I think i know already the back design will look awesome…!

Definitely love this Ace!

I won’t ever buy a two-color deck again. Sorry/not sorry. But good luck with your project.

Hey no probs - I always knew I wouldn't be able to accommodate everyone in a single project. Hopefully I can do a Bridge size deck further down the line :) Thanks!

*Edit to add* apologies - 4col deck (also really like 4col and want to do one of these in future too)

Curious to see how split the poker vs bridge orders will end up being. Most of the polls and threads usually indicate close to 50/50, maybe a slight preference to bridge, but as @JMC9389 mentioned there are much more bridge only people seemingly.

Hahaa i‘m not this picky.
What should a premium deck offer?
A seven that point to the diamond? No.
The most important part is after the design.
How on what it gets printed and hopefully no premium price tag.
