Help Me Create A Premium Deck of Poker Cards! (13 Viewers)

I have mocked up the artwork to match the angel sizing based on the statesman cards.
Was bored one day…

Would love to see a design with hex codes #780a41 and #00585c

I hope to post another sketch or 2 this evening. Things I think I have settled on so far (could still change I guess):

- blackjack index
- border backs (love borderless though @Bronson so will have to take care of that soon!)
- amazing stock (of course!)
- 2 colour (for this deck, love 4col and will create one in the future)
- clear pips + font

I am leaning towards a classic red + blue, but perhaps in bold, fresh pantones, but still not fully decided.

Thanks everyone for all your input: keep it coming!

I love both the black/red combo and the purple/green combo personally
FYI, as someone who has colour deficiency, black/red will be difficult to differentiate.
Under dim lights, to my eyes, red and black are as good as the same colour - black.
And I am on the mild side of the CD spectrum.

sth for your consideration.
*Edit: estimated 8% of men have CD, so not a significant proportion, but maybe not insignificant also ;)

Of cos, that being said, ppl with colour deficiency can always just choose to get a colour combi that makes sense to them

On a separate note,
+1 purple/green

- Do you prefer regular index, jumbo, or in-between (is it called Blackjack or Casino index?)
Blackjack or Jumbo

- Do you prefer classic back designs with a border, or borderless Casino style back designs?
I like both, and a Full Bleed option is mostly lacking
- Do you prefer Bridge or Poker size cards?
I find the bifurcation of members depends on if the host has a shuffler or not. Most of us that do have shufflers have the shuffletech, it boxes bridge cards. Those who hand-shuffle mostly want bridge. I think bridge would sell the best, but members that have shufflers would buy more setups if you can their buyin
- Do you prefer paper or plastic - I guess the answer from most would be plastic
Best possible answer:
4. Definitely 100% plastic. Any kind of paper is a nonstarter.
- Which brands have the best quality and handling?
I like Angel and Dal Negro
but ...
Avoid Modiano.
It would be a non starter for me
- Do you prefer 2 colour or 4 colour decks?
By and large this question has been answered on this site multiple times, 2 color on the table, 4 on the screen. You really only have one option, 2 color, but from there some people are passionate about the hues of red you would use.

- If I was to create a 2 deck set, which colour backs would you like to see? Classic red/blue, or something a bit more unique?
They have to have contrast, Blue and Orange are favs, but I've seen black and bright green look good to, red / blue is boring I need a reason to buy make me want them

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
Red / Green is meh, I don't mind the brown fill but hate yellow fill, from previous posts no fill was preferred but that is with only two options yellow or white (no fill)

Right guys, based on everyone's responses and observations, it looks like a bright/funky red + blue, or a bright/funky purple +green for the backs. I have made a couple of mock-ups - what does everyone think? These are CMYK adjusted for RGB, so not amazingly accurate, but you get the general idea. I also started on the faces - feedback on sizing, colours, functionality and overall aesthetic? I used a set of Courts I recently drew for another project but haven't used on any decks yet. Looking forward to getting these up and running!

My $.02 worth:
The faces look really nice! (but maybe fonts are a tad too elongated)
Colors are personal preference but I like a deeper blue and a slightly deeper red. (like what Bicycle uses). I don't like purple/green. I'd do black/gold instead as the second offering.

That looks like yellow in the box, better if it was just white or darker brown IMO @xdan had a few posts with all of this stuff in it iirc

Agreed, good general font size but too stretched

Just out of interest, why was brown preferred over yellow? Thanks

The choice offered was Yellow or White, White was preferred. Brown was not an option or offered.

I was saying I think brown is okay, but definitively not yellow. For me it makes the pips harder to read and is harsh on the eyes.

Adjusted slightly to make the font wider and shorter, but occupy a similar space on the card face... any better? They seem roughly comparable in proportions to other blackjack index offerings I have come across. Let me know!

I definitely prefer this to the first version. Much easier to read/identify quickly.
