Help Me Create A Premium Deck of Poker Cards! (3 Viewers)

The Modiano screwup was quite a while ago. If they commit to a full satisfaction guarantee I wouldn't totally rule them out. See if they can do acetate. Modiano acetates were very well regarded here and could command a premium price. For PVC, anything over $20/setup shipped would be a tough sell IMHO. I think your pricing would need to be fairly similar to Broken Arrow.
Nope (.)

100% this

Fournier is great news! Unfortunately poker size as well as green/purple backs are both big turn offs for me.

Poker/bridge preference is probably a toss up but I do think not going with classic back colors might be a mistake.
fun fact, Trefls have "casino quality" on box...

I like all of your choices except I am definitely in the bridge sized camp. I like these enough I will buy a set anyway just to check out what you're doing, but I'd be in for multiples on bridge.

People who struggle differentiating colours, I have tweaked the green/purple combo slightly and run it through the simulator - this appears to be an improvement - I have included an image above, please provide feedback. People who can view colours normally - your thoughts? Does this combo still look OK? I haven't changed it much at all.

Funnily enough, I am leaning toward a red/blue combo if we decide to print with Fournier, as they don't do 2x deck setup boxes, so the order would have to be for 2x separate decks in their own boxes which could then be purchased as a double - in which case I suspect the individual reds and blues would do much better at retail than individual purples and greens.

I have attached a slightly adjusted red/blue combo as well.

Please let me know if you guys can differentiate between green and purple (the 2 cards on the left) and between red and blue (the 2 cards on the right) - by lightening one card up ever-so-slightly, and darkening the other, it became easier to separate the combos when I viewed it through the colour blindness simulator.

Let me know your feedback! Cheers :)

I wonder if they don't do 2x deck setup boxes for poker-size only, as they definitely make/sell two-deck setup boxes in bridge size:

Another reason to go bridge! ;-)

I think those would work well in my opinion.

I agree, the green purple color tweak works well now.

+1 for Fournier, in my own experience with them, the ink lasts the longest compared to other cards.

Just for reference, this is the classic style deck we currently have:

Love the back art! I really loved this font. Different than other fonts I’ve seen. The one i believe your going with reminds me of first broken arrow decks/faded spade which me and our group don’t love. Just me though.

Would have been awesome if Dal Negro responded! My favorite card stock by far. But Fournier is exciting as well. Curious to see who you end up going with. All are great options and these will do well on here.

Edit: love pips as well, on both versions!

Thanks everyone! Yeh @Dcarl I wanted Dal Negro to be an option but I have now fired off 3 or 4 emails/contact forms and an instagram message and nada. A lot of these places are very hard to get a genuine correspondence and quote from if you're not already on their radar (I remember it being like this when I was trying to get my first paper deck printed in 2022) - I only ended up hearing back from Fournier after 3 or 4 unsuccessful attempts because the request I initially put in with a Bicycle/USPCC rep who I had spoken to before, right at the start, got referred to their custom PVC printer division who is now Fournier (since the merge with Cartamundi group) - a huge stroke of luck otherwise I don't think Fournier would have responded either. To the credit of Piatnik, they were helpful and transparent right from the get go and replied straight away, although their MOQ is very daunting (Modiano were also straight on it).

I now also have a correspondence and quote for Marion Pro stock/finish (Kuo Kau) - so these guys are also an option if we need to explore alternatives.

Still finalising one or two things then will put the group buy/pre-order thread up. Hopefully very soon. Cheers!

Poker vs Bridge - most people have a strong preference, and I think bridge has the edge here, but you can't really win on this one - you won't satisfy all the people all of the time.
I think poker size was a mistake. PCF has a preference for bridge. But more importantly, last time I checked, there was a dearth of bridge jumbos (or bridge mediums) on the market in general.
I realize I said it didn’t make much of a difference to me, but when push comes to shove, I’m only buying poker size if they’re really cheap. Like the $10 setups on Amazon. If I have to pay $20 for a setup, it isn’t going to be poker size. Just my two cents. Good luck.
