Hi All,

I've been a pokemon fan since I was a kid and now that I finally have my own income I'm planning to combine my pokermon and poker chip interests.

I've seen some of the other pokemon themed chips on here but would prefer something less crowded/hectic and am looking for help to design something simpler for my home games.

Similar to the Brpro Tiki Kings or DDLM i would prefer no molding or spots for a simpler design, and more space for the pokemon. I'm completely new to designing poker chips and made some rough mockups (attached). Perhaps a recurring pokemon type motif in the background?

Am planning to get these printed on plain Tina ceramic chips for more space.

Would love to work with a designer to improve these designs and get help with sending them in to Tina to have some samples made.

Thank you!

I can help out if you need!

I've done a Pokémon theme set for someone at work before which turned out pretty nice.

Here is what they looked like. I think I made them a few years ago, but something to work off of if you like the idea.

So I've spent the weekend tinkering on inkscape and have a very rough draft of the design i'm going for:

Next step I imagine will be to adjust the dimensions of the chip face and edges to fit an actual chip size, which I am utterly clueless about.

1. From what I understand, these designs exist in .svg, the manufacturers will need it in .ai file format?
2. Is there a template that has the actual dimensions, so I can adjust my chip face and edge designs accordingly?
3. The way @dizzyChipper suggested to line up the edge spots is to have the 1st part of the design centered at 45 degree angle, 2nd part at 135, 3rd part at 225, 4th at 315 degrees, so 4 stacked chips can be rotated 90 degrees to form the pokemon silhouette. Is that the right way to approach this?

Would appreciate any feedback and tips as this is my first time with custom designs.
Any advice around coloring, borders, design etc is really appreciated!

Are you planning to play cash or tournament?

Any specific reason you choose those pokemon?

Mostly cash, but including the higher denom chips for collection

Pokemon comes from corresponding colors/type and relative power. Couldn't really figure out what to use for $1 so went with normal type Eevee. Any different pokemons that you would suggest?

Just a thought but you could go with a water type for the $1 and use squirtle (white is the standard but many other casinos have used blue for one - I.e. Paris, bellagio etc). Then swap out synther for bulbasaur and you’ll have a gen 1 starter Pokémon cash set.

I’m assuming that you would only ever use $0.25-$25 for a cash set. If you want to be able to collect more, I would do a tournament set also. That way you’ll use all the chips that you design and you can expand the Pokémon types.

I have some concerns about the edge design working out with Tina. I feel like there could be some issues with printing where the edge design isn’t centered but I have no experience with that so I’ll let someone else chip in

Hey, very creative. Lining up the edge spots might look cool that way, but simulate those same chips in random stacks of 20 to see if you still like the designs. Not saying you won't, just want to make sure.
