(…so, I hope I got it right and it was OK to start a new thread just to say hello.)

I've been using poker chips for a while now, but only recently started to go "down the rabbit hole".

I own a decent set of ABS slugged diced chips (by "decent" I meant its assortment :cautious:; do take into account I didn't dare to include the word clay ;)) and, until recently, I thought I pretty much had probably the best possible solution for my needs. (Thing is, the people I know who also "own poker chips", have the cheapest possible plain plastic kind. )

I do not play poker (sorry , It just ain't for me) so I guess that influences my chip tastes somewhat: for instance, I'd rather have no denominations on my chips or, if they must, at least no currency symbols on them.

I have already started to acquire some sample sets :bigbucks: and learn as much as possible about poker chips :cool, and that's why I finally decided to get an account here: these forums pop up A LOT  during my "research sessions".

I think a lot of them use The Bank from Apache
I just had a poor experience with them. (I don't think they are interested in new clients.)

I sent them an email very politely inquiring about their shipping rates… I even clarified that while their sample prices are not on the cheap side, I understand theirs is a quality product, so I was fine with their chip prices; that I am not asking for free shipping, but paying $14 for shipping a $7 sample set to Florida, seemed like some sort of error on their website.

I went so far as to let them know, that if it was a case of "it is what it is" I would understand but I really had a hard time ruling out some sort of error.

The answer?

Like somebody else already shared here, somewhere in PCF: something along the lines of "Try eBay for cheaper prices".

I really don't see how that reply, answers my question; besides being just disrespectful. (I thought I had leaved it very clear, that I was OK with their chip prices.)

I just got another reply from Apache and it seems it was all a misunderstanding: I had told them I did search for their chips on eBay and was unable to find a sample for the Bank. I also got very defensive (my bad) but I did consider I could be in the wrong, so I asked for an eBay link, in case that's what they meant.

Yep, that's exactly what they meant, and I have my link now.

I am now going to promptly apologize, and go sit in the corner with my dumb hat .

Well, I was indeed able to get the famous Apache Bank set. (No pun intended, it's fairly famous.)

How about I share "my collection" to try and steer back this thread. (It's very humble, but everybody starts somewhere, right?)

There's some stuff missing (like some samples still going through shipping). I also just found some cheap plastic ones, still in shrink wrap, that I have no idea how got here  :ROFLMAO:.

Wow. A non-poker player but poker chip lover. That is certainly unique. Welcome to the site!
Really?

I don't think I'm that special... I'm prety sure there are many like me within the tabletop comunity. I think there are plenty of discussions on BGG about poker chips...

But, it is possible that indeed my level of love for poker chips is rather unusual.

Thank you for your reply!

I should share a new picture, my collection has grown a little bit since the last one.
