I gotta admit, the worst day of poker still beats pretty much any other day, but you get my point.
8 is definitely the magic numberI hate playing 10 handed. My casino does it all the time (10 players + the dealer).
It's fking crammed and very slow. And that is with players that actually came to play poker and a dealer to move things along.
In my group of players, there are only 2, maybe 3 players at the table who actually come for the poker. The rest is there to socialize, tell a good story, drink and have fun. I've had exactly one game with 10 players and wanted to kill myself after 10 hands or 1 1/2 hours in.
For that exact reason, I built my table designed for 8 players so that this situation could never occure again.
Pascal Jarque doesn't offer that, as I 've found out.Slide in cup holders FTW.
Means you can add remove them depending on how many players you have.
Really? I would have thought you could slide the cup holder in no bother. Ah well.Pascal Jarque doesn't offer that, as I 've found out.
Apparently, the rail is firmly attached, somehow, to the playing surface.
The norm is going to be 8 people. Anything more than that would be an emergency.Seriously though, if you want to play with 10 people, get that many cup holders. The spreading out I described above would work wonderfully for 7 players (or less, of course). With ten seats you'd have three left open, so basically you'd have people sitting in groups of 2+2+3. In the groups of 2 the players take a couple of cm extra space from each other, and in the group of 3 the middle player sits straight in front of his cup holder and the others move a bit to the sides. I think this should work fine. When you get to 8+ players, it will be more crowded.
Seem a bit bland, i assuming it just for placeholder but maybe 2 owl at each side and your club name in huge font in the middle ?Jarque had to reprogram his CNC to have large cupholders on the rail. The latter's width now should be 12-12.5 cm, in comparison to Jarque's normal 9mm-wide armrest.
The rail had also to be raised by 10m so that cupholders do not protrude under the table.
The magnificent Marengo legs had to be customized too, having a "foot base" 5cm (2in) narrower now along the long side of the table. They are normally destined for huge casino tables, 50in wide.
Communication has been excellent; it would have been almost impossible though (for such levels of customisation) if I didn't understand French.
Here is the final top view (the red line representing the armrest). Dimensions 48x80in.
I made sure to have a relatively smaller betting area, in favor of a generous players' zone around it.
