Pretty sure this has been discussed already so feel free to link me to that thread.

So with my regular game we have about 6 to 12 people interested in playing, but there are a few in there that aren't on the text thread, or they have antiquated phones and may or may not receive text.

Is there a website or app anyone is using to invite players and allow them to respond/ confirm?

We keep having people say they would have played but didn't see or get the text.

Facebook... Seriously tho.

Not many guys willing to do some fancy App that aren't already on FB (FB sends reminders, etc...). Just create events on FB for the particular games. Allows participants to RSVP, post comments, share pictures of the event after, etc...

More than half the crowd is FB free. including myself.

I used to use evite, but then needed something that would allow people to signup to a wait list once the single table filled up. Someone one the forums recommended signupgenius. I use it now.

Signup genius looks VERY promising.!!

I just got an invite for a local tournament on anyvite.com. I think I may switch to it from Event Brite. The event page is fairly customizable, and allows comments posting from folks who've RSVP'd.

I think the downside to any type of event management (eventbrite, facebook, anyvite, etc.) are the two most annoying things for a host:

- people who register, but then don't show
- people who visit the event site/page, but forget to register, and show up

No way around that ongoing issue.

I tried various apps, some with greater efficacy than others. My wife laughed at me and told me to get on Facebook and create a group. Now my group has 140+ players and invites are easy.

Getting those assholes to actually respond to invites is another story.

Wow Mat ditching me already? :)

fyi @MatB we have a group chat on Groupme. Its a group chat app where you can mute certain people in a specific group and mute certain chats as you please.

Hmmm i always thought you were talking about a group text with the rest of the group...

I justs sent a signup genius to my tournament regulars. I'll look into the Groupme. IS that an app only?

looking at the Groupme app now.. Says it works on EVERY device.... I'm pretty sure one of the guys in our group has a flip phone !!

EDIT: including sms !! this might work.
