I forgot too. I was checking on my smoker and finished that around 1:45. Sat down to do some work, saw the thread notification for this, and said "oh yeah that's today".

I just can't get over how weird this rack is:
Sample Set.jpg

Usually all the chips, primary and secondary, have the same inlay.
The primary quarter and 1 have a white background with black writing. The rest of the primaries have black background with white writing.
The secondary chips don't have black backgrounds like most of the primaries, they don't have white backgrounds like the first couple of primaries - they have backgrounds that are sort of colormatched to the chip's base color. The first three and the last three have black writing. The middle four have white writing. And if the white writing was done to make the writing legible on chips with darker backgrounds, then what's the story with the 5K and 25K?
And then there's the third 1. It doesn't have a black background or a white background or a base color colormatched background. It has a background that is colormatched to its edge spots, with illegible black writing.

Yeah, wtf.. as I said earlier as well, those inlays are beyond everything

And the spot patterns. I try not to criticize spot progression because a lot of it is subjective and I think often the entire concept is disregarded.
Except here, it looks like they tried spot progression, and did a good job of it at some points. And like maybe they tried to duplicate spots across primary and secondary. Except with a hiccup?

But with all the quirks, I think it's a pretty good looking set. Because of the colormatched secondary inlays, I think it's easily better than the Jacks.

Still trying to decide if your post is making me feel better or worse for missing the sample sale today. :cautious:

Just one more example (in a very long list) that proves that chips designed by chippers >>>> chips NOT designed by NON-chippers.
Um, fixed?

Really bugs me that in the environment of a casino where so many little things are paid attention to that a bunch of casinos have chips that look like ass.

The design of a chip is not necessary to make a casino efficient or profitable. In fact, at least for chips $1 and below, a casino might lose money if chips are well-designed and therefore harvested.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. The most bizarre to me is the primary 25c to 1. 3 spots to 2 just seems weird.

Casinos use chips for a lot more than poker and in that case fracs are never used.

If I owned a casino there’d be different chips for each game and cashiers that look the other way :)

edit: and by looking the other way I mean look to the back room to find you racks of minty chips!
