Hosting Tourney/Cash Game - Alcohol (2 Viewers)

100% how you want to run it. It's your game.

I provide two kegs of craft beer, and a pretty good selection of liquor to my guys. I also charge a $20 hospitality fee on top of the tournament buy in.

I also play in several of my regs games, they started as BYOB, but most have moved to a $20 charge and provide food and beers.

The most important thing is let your players know. Nothing worse that walking into a poker night and having to go on a beer run because your 12 beers wasn't enough for everyone.

Good luck!
Agreed. Also, don't be afraid to hide the keys if one of your troupe slams the bourbon too expeditiously!:vomit::as:

When I used to host I provided coffee, tea and whisky.
And I asked the guys and girls to bring something to share with others, As result there was always a stock of beers, wines and liquors in the room. Time to time we have a delicious homemade lemon cake or meat & cheese plates as well.

I remember many years ago back on CT being chastised for charging a $10 hospitality fee. I think it makes complete sense.
It all depends on how much you worry about the possibility of being busted. Any kind of mandatory fee like that makes the game illegal in some states
All games on KS are illegal. We dont care.
Same here, just playing cards with any kind of money involved is illegal, so adding a fee for food and drinks changes nothing.

We have rotating hosts that provide bottled water, soft drinks, coffee, multiple snacks/munchies, formal dinner, and dessert, with a mandatory $10 hospitality charge per person and a BYOB policy. Works great for our group.

Most important. A quote from “McLintock”.

Good party, but no whiskey. We go home!”

Depends on how much your crowd likes their drink. I typically provide an assortment of beer and the bar is open (because I keep a bar stocked). If you don't keep booze on hand then a fair deal might be you pick up a rack of beer and a handle of the brown stuff to start and say that's your contribution until it runs out, BYO as you see fit. My crew eventually shows up with more than I have room for anyway. Again, you know your people best. If they wouldn't bring their own contribution without prompting...prompt away.
