What goes in your travel kit? Have you flown with your setup? Does it change if depending on the destination (e.g., going to a wedding with a bunch of interested beginners vs. a reg meet up)?

I generally just put my table in my pocket. It's a Barrington so it just folds right up :)

I use Apache cases. I have never flown with them.

A good hard plastic case I would say is a must, especially if traveling by air. Do not put this in general cargo or gate check it.

What type of chips you bring is up to you. Some bring only the least valuable of their playable sets, while others have no problem bringing the most premium ones.

looking at your travel set got me wondering, why do you take so many DBs with you?
one is definitely a “bomb pot” button. There could be others such as “all-in” or other themes. He’s got his own “Wandering Eye” and a “Biff Tannen” theme.

I also don’t much care for DBs, but if I’m packing one, I can see myself packing a dozen also.

Just chip and poker accessories-crazed

thanks very much for the explanation. Since you mentioned the "bomb pot" button can i ask what it does? I'm pretty ignorant about variations of poker and games that aren't NLH

I believe all players at the table, must ante up a pre-determined amount (be it $1,$2,$5 or even $10 per person), before the cards are dealt.

Then I think there is no action until after the flop. So all players get to see a flop, with the hands they are dealt. The pot starts off with a nice “bomb” and can certainly grow pretty dam big after just one round of betting. I have had losing nights turn to gold because of just one “bomb pot” victory.

Because I can. :) I like having several so that the tables can choose which one they want to use. And sometimes there’s the superstitious ones who change them mid game. Plus… they’re cool.

It seems really fun, i'm going to try it in the next game

Me too! I even bought a little Nintendo “Bob-Omb” figurine, to pass around the table.

I believe they can be purchased here in 3D printed plastic, as well.

I wanted the Nintendo one. There are also DBs that some people love to have.

Flying with an Apache case is totally fine, even lockable. If you're carrying on be prepared to have it searched though.
