Long story short, I made a deal w/ a chipper for some chips. I received one shipment with half the chips. Then I inquired about the others and found out he hasn't shipped them. He hasn't responded to my last few messages. How long would you wait before you lost your mind?

I'd say the freak out is actually complete when a thread like this is posted about a chipper here. These things usually have a way of motivating the other party and chips magically show up not too long after... :D

I think my patience would be at it's end when I get half the chips and get told the seller hasn't bothered to ship the other half.

However there could be mitigating factors - say the chipper went to the last meat-up and just ran out of time. But if that is the case, a polite note would be more than enough to calm me down. I understand that things happen in real life, but if the guy is on the site at all he surely could spare time for a quick "don't worry" note.

There is a good side here - you have half the chips and the seller isn't telling you the other half are lost.

So does that mean he will now sent you the other half? I think situations like this he should just confirm that he will do so Asap and apologise for the mistake.

He said he would be sending them out. I feel like I am really impatient so was looking for others to reel me back in.

I would just give the seller a break in this case. It really is only the difference of a few days for you before you receive the chips. As long as it arrives as described, I'd be pretty chill.

It sounds really strange for a seller to ship half an order, and then someone else's order, before getting around to completing the first.

The only possibly logical reason I can come up with is the seller running out of some shipping material he needed for the second half of your order, e.g. a second medium FRB. It would be interesting to hear the story...

I agree with this. Can you confirm these were all purchased in one transaction.. I really can't imagine any reason I would ship chips in two different shipments......especially if they were purchased at the same time

Or he planned to procure the chips and flip them, but things went sideways.

Ok revisiting this...have been working with the seller, but still don't have the goods. Have a tracking number, but it doesn't really give me any indication if the item will be here today, tomorrow, next month. I have sent a pretty good chunk of cash (not family and friends) and I am generally concerned about ever getting these goods.

Do you think I should put in a Paypal claim, or wait for the package to be delivered (which has been in transit for 11 days). Another member bought after me and received his package end to end on 11 days. Thoughts?

Post a screenshot of the tracking details (just take out your address and the tracking # etc).

What would the screenshot accomplish? The last thing it says is leaving the country of origin. It doesn't have any address on where it is going or where it actually came from except the country.

International shipping times can vary greatly. I've had some arrive in 4-5 days & others in 2-3 weeks from the same country. Customs is the great unknown. I'd honestly probably give it three weeks before I took any further action.

This. I used to ship and receive a fair amount of stuff intentionally internationally. Sometimes it's surprisingly quick, sometimes it feels like it's stuck forever. But if you have tracking that shows it's in the system, I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. I've had international packages get held up in customs for a month for no apparent reason.

Customs can be tricky, sometimes whole bricks of cocaine go missing and no one at customs knows anything about it, tracking number or no tracking number:D

On a serious note. In Australia you can call up the shipping company and check the address etc. I have never tried it with international shipping but that's most of the reason you have the tracking number right.

You only have a specific amount of time to make a PP claim though. You may not want to let that time limit lapse. Just keep an eye on that. I hope you receive your chips soon. Good Luck.

I would feel better seeing a tracking number. Know that the "tracking" part borders on meaningless, but it is some proof of shipping. International shipping can be shocking slow - multiple months kind of slow.

I advocate patience. However, don't let the paypal deadline pass. If you don't have the package by then, file the claim and pursue it to the end. You can always make the seller whole should the package show up late but you aren't getting your money back from paypal if you miss the deadline
