I need to unfollow this thread. I remember when I told @hornhighyo I only needed 1 set when I chased CDIs and thought y’all were silly…

I'm over 30 now. Me thinks. It's stupid. We’ve all said that. It’s ok to embrace your sickness here.
They're pulled down. Need mas matsuis, although a lot is going up in a wall mount. The racks you're using on that Paris set are the ones stressing me out!! Eventually gonna get flat spots on those beauties at that height, no?
Floor to ceiling would look cool though...They're pulled down. Need mas matsuis, although a lot is going up in a wall mount.

I'm sorry, but your tens and your ones digits didn't show.
Since the WSOP had photos of Paulsons in storage (8-9 months at a time) stored 20 high, I'd say the risk of flat-spotting is pretty low in a temperature-controlled environment. Risk of a cheap rack cracking is much greater. The racks you're using on that Paris set are the ones stressing me out!! Eventually gonna get flat spots on those beauties at that height, no?
People just need things to talk about, things to worry about, things to spend money on. It’s fine, as long as half the hobby doesn’t go nuts using waterproof, shockproof, dust proof, pressure equalized impact-resistant over-padded cases for long term storage. Do you have a link to said storage? For research purposes of course.People just need things to talk about, things to worry about, things to spend money on. Famous last words! At this moment I'm at 9 cash sets plus one dedicated limit set and 9 tournament sets. Cash set #10 is arriving late this year or early next and then tournament set #10 will be in the works the next run of the same CPC mold.
When those arrive, that's it.
To be fair - I had one of my sets in the back of my Enclave last week and we made a million beach trips with the kids. I went to grab my case yesterday and it was covered in sand, wet towels, beach toys and puddles of water. I was really glad the case was everything-proof.People just need things to talk about, things to worry about, things to spend money on. I am too, because your sets don't suck! I can't keep track of everything you own, but half of it belongs in a museum.I was really glad the case was everything-proof.
I'm serious this time. I'm going to consider downsizing even. I'm lucky if I get to host six games this year when I was able to swing 10 to 12 the last couple of years.Famous last words!
It may be a sickness, but there are MANY worse things in life you can be addicted to.I started with one, then two. Now it's not two, but too many.
I've probably sold more sets than most people will ever see in person in their lifetimes. And I still have too many. It's a sickness.
I 've never refused any helpI dropped a couple sets so now down to 10 cash sets and 1 tournament.
Need to drop 2 more cash sets and I'll be good. It's a sad feeling when you can't rotate sets fast enough so they can all get into play. If I got down to 6 cash sets that'd be even more ideal, but I just can't make up my mind on which sets to let go.
2014 photo above...Here is a photo from 2014. I think I still have 4 of these sets... the others have been replaced by other sets... the sets I've kept have gotten bigger.
I've had Boat chips as long as there have been boat chips. They are stored 8-9 racks high (limited by shelf space) in tight-fitting Paulson or Chipco racks. It is a connected room, but there is no AC vent to the room, and the door is usually closed, so the room temp is in the low 70s to low 80s through hot Tennessee summer. They hit the felt maybe once a year, so the same pressure points do not change most of the year.I don't think the WSOP cares about flat spots or even what chips look like! (obviously lol)
People here have posted pics of damage with way fewer racks on top. Granted you may be correct re: temp control but I'm still not gonna risk going higher than 5 because I'm a wimp...

I cannot claim that others did not have flat-spotting issues; it just has not been my experience. I'm not putting them in "ideal" conditions, but there could be worse. I could see if chips were stored in loose or incomplete racks that there would be more psi on certain points, that may cause some deformation.
That said, if you can get away with just five-high, more power to ya. Some of us do not have that kind of horizontal storage space.

I'm not sure which makes me sadder - The blatant destruction of a beautiful chip, or that the stack was mixed Paulsons and Bud Jones.
I'm sorry, but your tens and your ones digits didn't show.
