How many sets do you have? (5 Viewers)

I definitely don't consider myself a collector. I have several sets... and I have had them for some time. I am even attached to a few and figure I won't ever sell them. I'm no collector. I use all of my chip sets. I rotate them into my games. If a set falls out of favor... because I like others better, that set will likely go on the for sale block... likely to be replaced by the next set.

I have 4 sets but going to get a 5th.

Started with a small cash set of Aztar Indiana chips (400) that grew into a 3600+ chip cash and tourney set of Aztar Indiana (all got sold in the last 9 months)

Now I have just these:

Micro cash set for $5 buy in games (Paulson solids ... 400 chips) ... my custom Gear Label set of Insert Coins poker room (I love this set). Cheap set to build
3 player Club Bahia el Casino tourney set (possibly BJ .... 80 chips) .... cheap fun little set
4 player tourney set (GOCC unicorn ..... 110 chips) ... another fun cheap set to build with custom Gear Labels
Vegas Paulson House mold cash set (1000 chips) .... not a cheap set at all (went way over budget on this, but its my ultimate dream set)
Future 1000+ chip tournament set (undecided on what I want) ... nice but fairly cheap because the Vegas set was over budget (Matsui, CPC or Paulson)

Solid THC set to be milled & labelled - 1100
AS cash set - 740

I have serious chip envy for the pr0n posted by many of these members. I am also not a chip collector, I am more of a "poker" enthusiast.
Before this site I had one set of chips that I used for about 10 years. I had chips, what would I need any more for?
Then this site happened.

I will never be in the class of these collectors and honestly don't know what I would do with a set that had 2500 chips. I host 2 table tourneys and 1-2 table 1/2 cash games so 8-900 chips does me fine.

Most surprised set - Burro SunFly Hybrids. I'm not supposed to like these so much because they are relatively inexpensive. But they are becoming my favorite chips to play with.

Cash Set - Majestics, nothing special but they get the job done.

Relabel Set - Paulson RHC in the works, will have a 2 table tourney set ready to go in the next 30 days

Next Set - Paulson THC relabel set to replace the Majestic cash set
Next Next Set - Custom tourney set.

Although I don't have the sickness for chips like most here I 100% agree the hunt & the buying and selling are all part of the fun.

2 sets...
1) PCA Secondary Limit Set (1,000 chips)
2) Paulson Mixed PL/NL Cash Set (800 chips)

My group only plays limit poker so set #1 is our go to set. I built set #2 because I love chips and want to be able to support a PL/NL game if the chance arises. Unless I come into some significant chipping funds, I’ll likely stop here at least for the time being. But sure, if I could afford it, I’d love a 3rd and 4th set. I just don’t want a divorce.

I also use all my sets, except the mini-chips, because they stack like angry cats.
Always looking for great chip metaphors, and this is a classic. :D Thank you sir, very descriptive.

I’m still trying to find the bottom of this rabbit hole.
As far as I can tell, there is no bottom. I actually thought I was closing in on it once, and damned if I didn't suddenly discover a whole bunch of adjoining tunnels that led to other apparently bottomless holes.

I need better pics, but my original custom ABS Zombies, followed by custom ceramics...

So... 15 sets. :wideeyed:
I host 7-8 times a year. I may be a chip nerd. :watching:

Those Pacific Star Bud Jones are fantastic! First time seeing them.

Right now I own one custome set of CPCs I did as non denomination with colors and quantities that work for cash or tourneys. That won’t do though so I’m planning on adding the following when funds allow:

1. Paulson set for 1/2 cash game
2. Custom CPC for cash with denominations
3. Custom CPC for tournaments with denominations
4. A custom set called “the Cooperstown Club” with amounts that match the jersey number of retired orioles as follows:
33 cents (Murray)
$2.0 (Frank Robinson)
$4 (weaver)
$5 (brooks Robinson)
$8 (Ripken)
$22 (Palmer)

7 at home and one on the way. I think I've got to the point where I now know what I like and will trim this down to a smaller number of significantly more costly sets. Of course, that's the plan - the reality will likely be very different!
