I'm new to this. I started out wanting "a nice set of poker chips". A set. One set. One.

My plans have since changed. I now want, and am in various stages of acquiring:

• A collection of vintage engraved chips
• A collection of vintage Catalin chips
• A collection of Paulson starbursts
• A set of cheap but attractive slugged plastic chips just to have something playable for now
• The "nice set of poker chips" that I originally set out to find

The "nice set" could easily turn out to be two sets, or three. Plus the cheap set, plus the three collections which will eventually be playable.

I suppose you could count the samples I've purchased as "a set". I've got five hundred chips worth of samples, and even after I select and purchase my "nice set" (or sets) I'm considering keeping all the samples and using them as a "every chip is worth one chip" limit set.

Wow!!! Hard to post in here, with all the mammoth collections to compare to. I always think I've got a solid collection until I see these threads. Just amazing!!!

I have a few Paulson sets, and also a CPC stock set. I'm also excited to add a new custom Ceramics set to my collection.

@bsdunbar1 , I am loving that setup you got with all those poker tables! That is stunning! What a lucky group of players you must have!

I have 2 cash sets + 2 tourney / micro cash sets, +1 cheap slugged plastic rural travel set (custom-labelled though). Total 5 (or 4 in this forum, excluding the cheap plastics).
The 3 sets (two cash, one tourney) are keepers. Always experimenting with the fourth one.
My ambition is to never exceed the above quantities and only get sample sets and singles to satisfy my craving for other chips.
My finances guarantee success
