HP (Huntington Park, CA - 1984?) Spotted Paulson SCV 600 Chip Set

About the chips:
Up for auction is a great looking 600 chip Huntington Park (HP) set of Paulson SCV chips in beautiful California colors. Breakdown with Paulson colors below:
  • 200x Cherry 25¢
  • 200x Ocean Blue $1
  • 100x Canary Yellow $5
  • 100x Black $20
These chips are worn, nicked, scratched, and battle scarred.

On the bright side, they’re quite clean, and the $1-$20 chips have those feel-good shaped textured inlays (in the case of the $1s, the shape is “round”)!

Some people who’ve seen photos of this set questioned whether the chips were even usable. However, we’ve played Texas Hold’em with this set five or six times at my place, and I can certify that THEY STILL WORK! :D

I pulled six barrels of chips (mimicking the breakdown ratio) and found the average weight to be about 9.4g/chip.

Here’s a chance at an instant SINGLE CASINO Cali colored set, or an expansion to an existing HP set! Opening bid is $2.75/chip.

Please look at all the photos carefully to judge condition for yourself before bidding!

PLEASE READ
  • Dealer button and racks are not included in the auction.
  • THESE CHIPS ARE NOT PERFECT. I do my best to photograph any and all imperfections. PLEASE EXAMINE ALL PHOTOS CAREFULLY PRIOR TO BIDDING.
  • I will ship to U.S. ADDRESSES ONLY.
  • If you win multiple auctions, I will be happy to combine shipping in the most economical way that still ensures safe delivery.
  • I ship with USPS flat rate packaging, which includes $100 insurance.
  • If you’d like to add insurance for the entire amount of your purchase, “signature required”, and/or any other USPS options, let me know, and I’ll get you a quote.
  • Please don’t bid if you can’t pay. If payment isn’t made within seven days of winning the auction, I will either offer the item to the next highest bidder, or put the item back in the safe.
  • BIDS FROM MEMBERS WHO HAVE WON PAST AUCTIONS AND NOT PAID WILL BE IGNORED.
  • It is my intent to give all my buyers positive feedback. Because of the “5 feedbacks / 24 hour” rule and the “1 feedback per user per 5? hours” rule I sometimes fall behind. If you win an auction and I fail to give you positive feedback, please remind me!
Thanks in advance for your bids!

21 or 22 to a barrel on those $1s?

21, in some cases, very snugly.

In the photo below using PAULSON RACKS, I pulled chips from the leftmost barrels in the two racks to fill the other four barrels in each rack.

In two of the eight cases (bottom rack, middle barrels), fitting 21 chips into the barrels was too snug for comfort.

Had a set of these back in the day... love the CA colors. GLWS

After making my previous reply to answer your question on the $1 chips, I checked the other denominations.

The $5s and $20s also fit 21 chips/bbl (sometimes snugly).

The 25¢ chips fit 20/bbl.

Were these chips originally offered from a sale similar to a Jim Sale?
No, I found a large chunk (1300+ chips?) of what is circulating from a private party sans the $2, $10 chips and some $20s , that I at the time didn’t have money to buy all of at like $.60/ lol. I think @leo822 got some from the original source as well?

Here was my original cherry picked 1000pc set that I think sold for ~$1.25/ in 2017

This is the most I've ever seen at one time...BRAVO!! I honestly didn't know there were 2 different HP 100s out there.

Wow… I was looking back at my photos, in particular the first one that serves as the thumbnail for the auction thread. When I saw all the black space along the bottom of the photo, I realized I’d forgotten to include the “authenticity Post-It note” (which is why I left the space on the bottom of the photo in the first place).

Sheesh… I’m so embarrassed, and I apologize sincerely. Anyway, here it is - hopefully y’all now know that it’s really ME:

I still can’t believe I forgot. I mean, it too so much effort… after stealing HebbNH’s Post-It note, I had to search EVERYWHERE to find an old bottle of “white out” to fix one of the numbers.

Also, to all of you who’ve complained about the lack of shrink wrap on the chips, I’m sorry, but Amazon lost my shipment! Maybe next time.

Me every 5 seconds opening this auction using everything in me not to bid.

I can help.

Just go in the other room and look at your wife. Now, imagine that beautiful sweet woman - the love of your life - stabbing you in your sleep. Or worse… using super glue.

And there you go… no more urges to bid! :D
