I hate to be the village idiot here…
But I’m so confused as to how you’d (the bidders) find more $5s. Are they easy street or something? Seems I should be bidding, I really love the set.
I’m hesitant to be stuck with just 1 rack of $5s. What am I missing here? Or can you buy them endlessly a couple hundred times over a period of time with love and dedication?
Sorry if the answer is obvious and I just don’t know what I’m blabbing about.
Don’t be silly. You’re not babbling, and you’re certainly not the village idiot.
I *do* wish this little set had another rack of $5s, simply because I’ve seen lots of members here who prefer having lots of $5s in their sets.
That said,
this set has a bank of $2,750, and it served well at my place for 25¢/50¢ games.
Some of you are probably saying, “
I play lots of games that need more than a $2,750 bank.”
I play games that need a larger bank, too, but none of those games have 25¢ chips on the table. Those games range from $1/$2 to $3/$5 blinds.
Everyone has their own preferences, as they should! If a $2,750 bank is enough for your games, and you like having a large number of chips in front of each player, and you enjoy spending a fair amount of time physically managing and stacking chips in front of you, by all means, put more $1s and $5s out there on the table!
I personally prefer a smaller and more efficient number of chips in front of me (without getting to the point of having to frequently make change, of course). So, for me, having some $20 (or higher) value chips on the table lets me spend more time thinking about the actual game strategy, rather than sorting and stacking chips. That’s useful for me, as in my group of regulars, I’m average at best in terms of poker skill, so I need all the extra time I can get!
(And here come all the new invitations to join other games!)
