Tell me what you think of this. I got some hot stamped clay $1 chips and was thinking of ways to use them, other than building a hotstamp clay cash set. My idea is to play a bounty tourney with a buy-in plus $20. The bounty, however, would consist of a $1 chip in the pot to start every hand of the tournament. Every time you win a hand you win a buck, and at the end you'd cash these chips in. Any leftover $1 chips would be awarded to either a) the player who won the most hands, or b) the tourney winner. What do you think? Is this stupid? Thanks.

Encourages very loose play while the bounties are still live, especially if the bounty amount is not very small compared to the buy-in.

Interesting concept. Definitely adds incentive to play more hands, plus adds value to winning hands early in the tournament when blinds and pot sizes are still low relative to stack sizes. Could go with either "win $1 with every hand", or "win $1 with every flop" -- which would make pre-flop aggression less rewarded vs actually winning contested pots.

Biggest problem I see is remembering to add the $1 chip to the pot every hand (or flop)... probably easier with a dedicated dealer to guard the rack of chips yet to be distributed. Also need to establish a "chopped pot" rule beforehand: do both winners get $1 in a chopped pot, or does the $1 go unrewarded if chopped, or does it stay in the pot to make the next hand worth $2?

May have to try this......will likely call it a 'pot bounty' to differentiate from a 'player bounty' tournament. Thanks for the idea!
