Yes and no.Does it ever end?
I have bought/sold/traded for several years to where I now have 5 sets that see the felt regularly and I don't really feel the need to pursue significant upgrades any longer.
Yes and no.Does it ever end?
The CPC's have such a crisp clack to them where as the China clays are just kind of a dull thud. Now I want a custom quality set so bad I can taste it but alas, it's just not in the cards at this time.
Can I respectfully ask why so many chips for a cash game? Two tables??I'll keep waiting it out. I don't want to get a side grade and be unsatisfied. Problem is I need at least 1200 chips for my cash game. Big oof.
Yes. We like to play late and I don't have a lot of deep pocketed fellows. Most folks are good for one $50 buy in or a few $20 buy ins at my $25NL game. Some folks more than that but not many. Sometimes if too many players busted early it would risk breaking the game. Two tables allows us to condense to one when some players clear out.Can I respectfully ask why so many chips for a cash game? Two tables??
Not to get off original posters topic but if you like Bicycle Prestige I think you would like Desjgns.I have an issue with cards too. I have like 30 sets of cards. Most of my poker buddy's prefer the worn out shit paper cards they host with. A few prefer some of my cheapest $3 a deck plastic cards from @Casino4you
So far, I prefer my 4 color faded spades, Copaq magum for my poor eyesight, or Bicycle Prestige, the first decent set I got.
So many sets I've never used and probably never will. Just bought 3 new sets this week. I don't like any of them enough to play with before my top 3 are worn out. But for some reason I can't help but buy more when I see them.
They are ok. I have a few decks of them. Not to get off original posters topic but if you like Bicycle Prestige I think you would like Desjgns.
Long answer, always no... But longer.Short answer - no.
Well I’m new around here and I’ve ordered some sample chips, plan on ordering additional sample chips all to satisfy the itch of having different chips. But know at the end of the day, at some point, I’ll end up with CPC sets as those are the best. I have a sample set from them of the rounders chips for obvious reasons. Had those for years. Maybe one day I’ll look into customs but I haven’t even looked into starting that journey
Ah, the life of a poker chip collector and maker—where joy comes in the form of endless stacks of clay discs, each set more essential than the last. It starts innocently enough, a casual hobby, but soon spirals into a black hole of financial ruin and regret. One minute, you’re admiring a vintage set from the 1960s, the next thing, you’re convincing yourself that a custom-made, gold-foil inlay design is a “necessary investment.” And why? Because your universe might implode if you don’t own every possible color combination of a poker chip known to mankind. Sure, you don’t need it, but need is for people who can’t continue, need is for losers, you have to want it to succeed.
Let’s not forget the sheer thrill of constantly chasing the perfect set—a pursuit destined to never end. There you are, surrounded by boxes and trays, each new set promising to be “the one” that finally completes the collection. But the dark truth? There’s always another must-have release just around the corner, pulling you deeper into the abyss. Friends stop calling, bank accounts dwindle, and your living room looks more like a casino than a home. But, hey, at least you’ll be ready if the world suddenly decides to turn poker night into a global sport. What’s that? Another limited edition set? Well, looks like family time is overrated anyway, let me get you my paypal account info...
Nope, sorry.Maybe after that I'll be happy.
